Cindy Lee Berryhill’s first new album in a decade ‘The Adventurist’

Cindy Lee Berryhill marks an affecting, intimate, and dazzling return to record-making with The Adventurist, an ambitious song cycle set for release by Omnivore Recordings on March 10, 2017.

Encinitas, Calif.-based singer-songwriter-guitarist Berryhill describes her elegantly crafted set of new original compositions — her first release since 2007’s Beloved Stranger — as a collection of “tone poems about the experiential feeling of enlovement.”

Written and recorded over the course of the last five years and funded in part by a Kickstarter campaign, The Adventurist was co-produced by Berryhill with
David Schwartz, Sheldon Gomberg, Ben Moore, and Lee Ray. Contributing musicians include singer-songwriter Syd Straw, Probyn Gregory and Nelson Bragg of Brian Wilson’s band, DJ Bonebrake of X, and David J Carpenter of Dead Rock West.

HAEVN – ‘Bright Lights’ (Sam Feldt Remix)

Platinum-selling Dutch producer Sam Feldt has kicked off his 2017 with a blissful rework of ambient music duo HAEVN’s single ‘Bright Lights’, out now via Spinnin’ Records.

Sam’s rendition of ‘Bright Lights’ builds around the original track’s mixture of echoing guitar riffs and soothing melodies. Fused with his signature electronic style, Sam’s remix leads with pulsing club beats and tinkling xylophone hooks, complementing Marijn van der Meer’s rich vocals. The Dutch producer’s stunning version of HAEVN’s single follows his previous remixes for the likes of Rob Thomas, Janiek and Birdy.

BRIT nominated house DJ/producer Philip George remixes Apexape’s ‘Joy & Pain’

Bristol duo Apexape have enlisted BRIT nominated house DJ/producer Philip George to rework their single, ‘Joy & Pain’. Out now via Cr2 Records/BMG, Philip’s striking twist and the accompanying After Dark remix will join earlier renditions from Hour Enemy, Alex Ross and Chris Carrier.

Philip George’s remix includes a deep bassline and contrasting twinkling synths – steering away from the original’s funky house sound. His After Dark take of ‘Joy & Pain’ flaunts minimal synth patterns, laced with Josh Barry’s looped vocals.

OHHMS share punishing new song “The World”

British prog metal merchants OHHMS unleash their fury with a new song taken off their forthcoming album “The Fool”, out this March 31st on Holy Roar Records.

The band comments: “‘The World’ is the shortest and most difficult song that we have written thus far. To switch focus from epic 15-minute soundscapes to short (for us) & concise bursts of rage had us battling against our pretentious selves. Sometimes though, if a message can be told in a quick blast with two choruses and some of the best riffs we have written rather than stretching it out over a movie length, then why not nail it down. So we did.”

Icarus & Arle release new collaboration on SubSoul

ENTRANCE Debuts New Single, “Always The Right Time”

Debut Single from Leeds’ ‘KOYO’

Named after the Japanese word for colourful autumn leaves, KOYO is also the name of a new group fusing colourful influences to create music of their own.

KOYO formed in Leeds in 2015, and are Huw Edwards (lead vocals, guitar), Jacob Price (sampling, synthesisers), Seb Knee-Wright (guitars), Dan Comlay (bass) and Tom Higham (drums).

Initially co-founded by Huw and Jacob, the pair gorged on ’90s grunge and alt.rock (Huw: “I loved the melodies and harmonies of Alice In Chains”), but also their parents’ classic rock and prog-heavy record collections.

The Buttertones announce Innovative Leisure release

The Buttertones’ Gravedigging is more a movie waiting to happen than an album—or a soundtrack just waiting to inspire a movie, with scene after scene of action, tension and release set to a sound that takes everything good and true about American music before the Beatles prettied it up (surf, sweet soul, the boss saxophone-overdrive garage of the Northwest wailers like the Sonics) and matches it to punk energy, post-punk precision and the kind of personality that blows the circuit-breakers at a backyard party. Ruth Koleva brings us ‘Tokyo’

Bulgarian singer songwriter Ruth Koleva returns with new single ‘Tokyo’. It’s another head-nodding groove that quickly gets in your head and won’t let go. Produced by compatriot Gueorgui Linev of LA’s band Kan Wakan, and written with Beats 1 Radio composer Jonah Christian and rising star Rachel Row, this brooding love song explores the idea of opposites attracting. “We grow when we exchange energy,” she says. “And that’s why this song is called ‘Tokyo’. It’s a meeting place where many worlds collide.”

Peter Frampton to tour with The Steve Miller Band Summer 2017

Grammy-Award wining guitarist Peter Frampton is back on the road with new dates this summer—this time with American rockers The Steve Miller Band.

“Steve Miller was in a recording studio vocal booth stacking incredible harmonies the first time we met in London, circa 1970,” Frampton explains. “From that moment on I have been a huge admirer of his multiple talents: singing, writing and of course his amazing guitar playing. Steve has already asked if I will come and jam on a few tunes during his set. ‘YES PLEASE!’ was my very quick answer! Music is all about having fun and playing from the heart. I can guarantee you much fun will be had by all on this tour.”

Art Nation “LIBERATION”

Art Nation, the fast rising rock act from Gothenburg, Sweden, will release its highly anticipated second album Liberation, April 28th via Sony Music/Gain.

“When the time came to make the new album, we sought to broaden our sound and push the limits of the genre, while still sounding like ourselves”, singer and frontman Alexander Strandell explains.

Michael Kiwanuka Announces Rescheduled North American Tour

Michael Kiwanuka is pleased (and relieved) to announce that he’ll be rescheduling his cancelled North American Tour from December of 2016. Kiwanuka who was suffering from vocal chord damage and tonsillitis has been cleared to play shows again. The tour begins May 18 at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles and includes Festival stops at Governors Ball and Bonnaroo Music Festival. It includes shows in some cities that weren’t on the December run including Washington DC, Montreal, Indianapolis, Atlanta and Nashville.

In addition, Michael was nominated for two BRIT Awards, for best Male Solo Artist and Album of the Year. The awards are given out on February 22. He’s also nominated for Best British Artist for the NME Awards and The Gilles Peterson Worldwide Award for Album of the Year. The awards are the latest accolades for an album which has been lauded worldwide, Jon Pareles of the NY Times wrote “Michael Kiwanuka’s second album, ‘Love & Hate,’ is a sustained, stylized plunge into despair: plaints of isolation, doubt, lovelessness, racial injustice, longing, hopelessness and a certain resolve despite it all”, and NPR said “Kiwanuka’s vocals are as tender as ever, yet laced with a heavy dose of attitude. This is full-throated soul with swagger.”

Jasper X whose track “Whirl Music”

“The idea of “Whirl Music” was to capture a blur of past moments in one’s emotional life,” Jasper X, the New Jersey-based project frontman, explains. “Our memories are often blurred snapshots of multiple moments that we think of from time to time, like being a whirl of thoughts. The initial chord progression is the foundation of the song along with the driving kick drum on the downbeat. The idea was to create modest builds and colors around that foundation and what came out was a positive sonic vibe that crescendos into the instrumental outro.”

LAS RAGEOUS Music Festival set for April 21 & 22 in Downtown Las Vegas

This year marks the debut of Las Rageous, a two-day music festival taking over two square blocks in downtown Las Vegas on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22. Created by Live Nation, Las Rageous will feature performances from Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Anthrax, Coheed and Cambria, Killswitch Engage, Breaking Benjamin, and more with two stages in the heart of iconic downtown Las Vegas.

Award-winning gypsy-jazz guitarist Stephane Wrembel will release two new recordings, The Django Experiment I and The Django Experiment II, on March 3rd on Water Is Life Records. Both recordings primarily feature Wrembel’s interpretation of the songs of legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt as well as original compositions by Wrembel and a few other writers in the same vein of music.

Wrembel is best known for “Bistro Fada,” the theme song from the 2011 Woody Allen Oscar Award-nominated movie, Midnight In Paris. Subsequently, Wrembel was hand-selected by award winning composer/producer Hans Zimmer to perform at the 2012 Academy Awards® as part of his “All Star Band.” Wrembel has contributed music to two other Allen films, commercials, and TV and now has both a Clio Award and Grammy Award under his belt. He has toured around the world and is immensely popular in India.

Misery, is the colonial era farmhouse John now calls his home. This is where Bad Posture was born.

Adakain “Hey Girl” Official Music Video

Texas Hard Rock Faves ADAKAIN will be headed to LA on February 1st for one week to track two new songs that were written after their first Mid-West/West Coast headline tour last fall. The band will be using producer and well-known RA frontman Sahaj Ticotin, who has produced and written music for Stitched Up Heart, Starset, and Sevendust. The band has also revealed that they’ll be using mixing guru Ben Grosse (Sevendust, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin) for the final mastering and mixdown. Look for both songs to appear on a remastered and rereleased version of the band’s 2015 self-released debut Never Coming Home which will be released in May and, feature a few well-known musical guest appearances this time around!
