LAEL NEALE DEBUT SINGLE “BORN IN THE SUMMER” OUT NOW
Blonde, blue-eyed, and seemingly frail if judging by her frame, one might use the word timid if seeking a book-cover adjective to describe Los Angeles singer-songwriter Lael Neale. Upon hearing her music the active listener experiences anything but timidity in the self-assured and courageous honestly in Neale’s lyrics. The title of her debut studio album I’ll Be Your Man, out on July 10th, makes a bold statement. It is the last thing that one would expect from the angelic face on the album cover, which is the antithesis of masculinity.

Following his debut electro jam “For The Birds” on Dim Mak earlier this spring and on the heels of his release “Nightmare” on Wiwek’s RIMBU imprint, Los Angeles-based producer Reid Stefan has unveiled his latest offering “Booty Alert.”
In true Stefan style, this track is unapologetically upbeat with energetic sirens, a stomping bass and catchy chopped vocals that will leave dance floor patrons twerking all night.

SEA OF BEES ALBUM STREAM
Julie Ann Baenziger – Jules – was born in the suburbs of Roseville, just outside of Sacramento, CA, quiet and shy, eccentric but happy. She grew up safe and warm, in a sheltered family, content to not know what she wanted to do with her life. Then in her late teens, she went to church with her sister, heard an older girl singing, and fell in love with her instead of God.
Suddenly she knew what she wanted, what she had to do – become a musician, and get her music into the world. But it was only years later, when Jules became Sea Of Bees, that she became herself. When you hear her, you realize she is the kind of singer-songwriter you come across only a few times in a lifetime – special, unusual, leaping out at you like an alien, her character fully-formed, her uniqueness intact.

WE CAME AS STRANGERS “STILL LIFE”
Originally coming together as an experimental project away from each of the quartet’s leviathan collection of professional endeavours, We Came As Strangers’ is a complete execution of creative freedom in its most literal sense.
“I wanted to do a proper band where we all write the songs and are all involved in production,” says Justin Sandercoe. “And we did go into it as strangers, I’d worked a bit with everyone but the rest of the band hadn’t met each other before.”

DRAB MAJESTY STREAM NEW MUSIC VIDEO + INTERVIEW VIA NOISEY
In the smoggy orange light of a new millennium, the young Deb Demure would take the bus, once a week, from his home in crumbling Hollywood to his grandmother’s apartment, nestled in the pastel pristineness of Beverly Hills. During these visits, Deb couldn’t help but notice the disconnect between the glow of his grandmother’s temple, and the downtrodden, alienated figures that populated the seats of the mass transit that took him there. Week after week, he would observe these characters: fading B-movie starlets, leisure-suited alcoholics, aging transgender prostitutes, and forgotten civil servants. But one fateful commute home, as the twilight waned to the purple Los Angeles night, he realized these figures were not as lost as they appeared – there was a nobility in their failure, reflective of the dignity of the city’s vanishing golden era. They were survivors, in need of a voice: a spokesperson for every color of hope and hopelessness, transcendent of gender and time; Drab Majesty became Deb’s musical podium for this undertaking.

CUT SNAKE “MAYBE WHY NOT”
Cut Snake’s Paul “Fish” Fischer and Leigh “Sedz” Sedley epitomize the raucous and rowdy attitude Aussies are known for. The down-under duo is one part professional surfer, one part international DJ, and all parts party. With a mindset that keeps one foot on the dance floor and the other in the studio, Cut Snake’s capacity to produce distinct 4/4 house jams is proven once again. This time around they have called in their fellow Aussie mate, Wongo, to join in the fun on a colossal new tune, dubbed “Maybe Why Not”.

VICKTOR TAIWÒ’S “CURSE” VIDEO PREMIERES
Of JUNO, Taiwò explains, “This project will always be reminiscent to me of the growing pains of a young boy, from the subject matter to the creation and exploration of the music itself. It was in many ways unconscious, uncontrollable but inevitable. It was in many ways uncomfortable and acutely painful. I don’t know if any of this permeates through the music itself when you listen to it, I wish it does. I hope that you can share with me the joys of growth, the beauty of imperfection and un-decidedness. I can’t ever promise to create anything like this again, but I can vow to present myself always as I truly am, in the moment, to those that are curious enough to engage.”

PROBCAUSE NEW SINGLE
Announcing the August 4th release date for his Drifters EP, Chicago rapper ProbCause today shared the project’s first single, “I Feel U.” Debuted by Consequence of Sound, horns played by Will Miller scream atop glimmering keyboard taps, deep bass booms, and thumping percussion that lay the groundwork for the track that was co-produced by ProbCause and DRO. As for the rhymes, ProbCause is in his comfort zone with loose-lipped, carefree raps stating “if I concerned myself with all the nonsense and gossip I’d already be sleeping inside of a fuckin’ tomb” before making his way back into the song’s uncannily empathetic, boastfully dismissive chorus. “It’s about as Chi-Town as it comes, with every beat ringing like a testament to ProbCause and the scene’s history,” Consequence of Sound explained in their premiere post.
HUEY MACK “YOU AGAIN”

Huey’s skillful storytelling loops over infectious beats as he effortlessly criss-crosses between lively party songs (“Funeral” feat. Afrojack & Twista) and intimate tracks (“Things Change”) that speak to his life & childhood in West Virginia.

KAT VINTER RELEASES VIMES REMIX OF “DOWNTIME”
VIMES’ remix of Kat Vinter’s ‘Downtime’ has offered a lighter, more summery perspective of the original. Like dappled light dancing among the shadows, the sounds used create an atmosphere of buoyancy without losing the lush textures and intimacy of the former. New hooks are created by playfully pitched and stretched vocals, as they become less a plea for intimacy, than a celebration of it.
