About the Artist: This is the latest EP installment from Hollywood’s own Cold Blue Rebels entitled “Love of the Undead (2014. Band is comprised of : Mickey Finn, Joe Normal, Danny Dangerous, Al Diablo, Thunders Inazuma, Spazz Draztik. This is one release that certainly doesn’t disappoint. This is one Psychobilly Punk Rock band that brings to the table effective songwriting via a sometimes explosive sound and impressive live show. This meshed with a one in a million classic throwback 50’s persona and effective visuals/vocals makes for a very effective combination indeed. Lead Singer Finn provide the vocal front and dish out rich melodies that will remind you of Nekromantrix, Tiger Army, The Stray Cats and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy but skillfully and methodically never cross the line into the Alternative Rock. Nope this is Psychobilly- Punk all the way . All songs are wonderfully simple but masterful in their overall arrangements. Music reminded me of Social Distortion and Stray Cats but I will add their signature sound is unique beyond comparison. This CD is quite entertaining overall with this amazing dynamic duo of Finn and Normal and hot to the touch guitar playing from Normal is to die for. Both Finn and Normal an amazing team and possess an immense amount of talent between them. The lyrical content is straight from classic Americana roots and offers a very strong and confident perspective and spirit via their music. All song do exactly what they are supposed to do: get in your grill via well-crafted movements and Top Shelf musicianship. The overall production value is rock solid with a nitty gritty sound that cuts your ears like a jagged edge – almost as if you were watching a live performance. My favorite tracks are: “Love of the Undead” and “Whip Me Once More Time.”
Cold Blue Rebels have proven themselves with this latest 6 Track release. They are clearly an up and coming musical force around Hollywood and beyond and all band members are clearly capable punk-rock musicians. I must admit Love of the Undead sucked me in like a powerful drug and refused to let go long after the CD was over. This usually indicates he is something special about the artist or band in question. Thus deserving praise, recognition and musical fame at the international level.Need I Say more?
