The Avant-Pop quintet, Hundred Waters, announce their signing with three-time Grammy winner Skrillex’s OWSLA label. Hundred Waters is an artistic collective comprised of two women, three men, and one house, in which most of their creation happens. Being nothing like the label has signed before, OWSLA continues to show its ever morphing and openness to various music types, without confining to one particular sound and genre. Hundred Waters is releasing their Thistle EP on August 21, 2012, featuring their single ‘Thistle’ along with five remixes by well-known artists Star Slinger, AraabMuzik, TOKiMONSTA, Lockah and Different Sleep & Troublemaker. Their debut self-titled album drops on OSWLA in October, which Pitchfork reviewed early with much critical acclaim, describing it as “a gorgeous debut of bewitching digital folk.” The album combines stunning vocals over sophisticated arrangements of classical instrumentation to create a sense of intimacy and refinement throughout, transporting listeners to an ethereal, neo-folk atmosphere. Consequence of Sound comments that, “true song craft and musicianship is at work within Hundred Waters, and that warrants some serious attention.”
