Lavender. – by Chef Más released Mar. 28, 2025
Chef Más’ new album: Lavender. explores themes of self expression, stress, depression, and ultimately redemption and acceptance. Drawing on themes from Hip-Hop, Trap, Indie Rock, and Indie Pop, sonically, it paints the story of one man’s struggle to find meaning and purpose in a world he views as hostile. While on the surface the color pallet of the album is bright and vibrant, this contrasts with gritty distortion and punchy sound design to explore how these two opposites can exist in a world together and are necessary to form the basis of the depth of our worldly experiences. The title Lavender. is reflective of how Chef Más views himself, or to say, the color that he gives off. It’s in a way familiar and comforting but still encapsulates the sorrow and regret he is deeply tied to, and through the expression of this, hopes to escape from one day. The album itself is supposed to be vague enough to be open to interpretation and to apply those themes to whatever the listener happens to be struggling with in their life, and hopefully, help them through it.
I first started making music back in 2019, and since then have made it my mission to be able to take a track from its inception all the way to the mastering stage. In 2024, with help from my good friend and business partner Otto Deilke We founded Sauced Records as a way to release music and offer recording, mixing, and mastering services to independent artist at a price point they can afford.
