BLACK EYED PEAS IN THE STUDIO
The Black Eyed Peas are currently squeezing in time in the studio in between tour dates to finish up their new album, which is due out next month. Will.i.am took to Twitter on Friday and said that they are “in the studio recording the new album.” The Black Eyed Peas’ new album, The Beginning, is slated to arrive in stores on November 30th.
CHRISTINA BURLESQUE CLIP!
Perez Hilton posted a short clip of a new song from Christina Aguilera’s movie Burlesque. The video features Aguilera belting out one of the signature songs from the film.
GAGA KEEPS OXYGEN TANK IN DRESSING ROOM
Lady Gaga reportedly requests that an oxygen tank be kept in her dressing room while on tour. According to HollywoodLife.com, the singer also asks for a jar of honey to be left in her backstage room at every show. She also abides by a strict dinner menu while on the road, with themed meals such as “BBQ Night” and “Pasta Bar.”
LADY GAGA’S SOPRANOS APPEARANCE SURFACES
Lady Gaga made an appearance on the The Sopranos back in 2001. The episode, called “The Telltale Moozadell,” is from the third season of the HBO show. In Gaga’s scene, mob boss “Tony Soprano’s” son, “A.J.,” is acting out while at the school pool with friends. Wearing a black top and jeans, Gaga is one of three girls hanging out, smoking cigarettes and watching the boys swim. One of “A.J.’s” friends then gets the idea to chuck a desk into the water. From there it’s a free-for-all, as Gaga and her pals toss equipment and sports trophies into the pool. “A.J.” ends up getting probation. The episode aired when the future superstar was just 15 years old. Her gig as an extra on The Sopranos, though, was not the only time Gaga ended up on TV. She also appeared on MTV’s The Hills and Boiling Points.
KEVIN JONAS AND WIFE EXPECTING?
After getting married last December, Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa are rumored to be expecting their first child. In Touch magazine is reporting that the Jonas Brothers member and his wife were spotted buying a home pregnancy test at a Rite Aid in West Hollywood last month.
BIEBER WRAPS UP HAWAIIAN WORKING VACAY
Justin Bieber was in Hawaii over the weekend, performing a pair of shows in Honolulu. He was joined by Jasmine Villegas, who is his current opening act and rumored girlfriend. JustJared.com has a photo of the two exchanging a big hug as she met up with the teen star for the shows on Friday. On Sunday, the pair, along with pal Jaden Smith, reportedly went for a boat ride on a catamaran called Mai Tai. Over the weekend, Villegas was the most-searched person on Google.com. The 17-year-old singer and actress has appeared in Disney’s The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and That’s So Raven. She played Bieber’s love interest in his video for “Baby” and can also be seen in Kanye West’s video for “Jesus Walks.” Justin flew to Japan yesterday. He will be back in time for his concert in Vancouver one week from today.
LEE DeWYZE RELEASES NEW SONGS
American Idol-winner Lee DeWyze’s has released a few songs off his forthcoming album, Live It Up. So far, the singer/songwriter has released the title track and the first single “Live It Up.” Other songs include “Beautiful Like You,” “Me and My Jealousy” and “Dear Isabelle,” which is described as the most stripped-down, personal track on the album. Lee DeWyze’s debut record, Live It Up, comes out on November 16th.
ALICIA KEYS LAUNCHES BUY LIFE CAMPAIGN
Alicia Keys is a motivated woman. The multi-platinum selling singer has just launched a new movement to help benefit the Keep a Child Alive foundation. It’s called the Buy Life campaign and with it, people will be able to donate money by using their cell phones to scan a unique barcode in Alicia’s ads. Scanning will then raise money for medicine to help those affected with HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. The pregnant songbird told us about the importance of giving back (See Related Cut #3) and setting an example for her unborn child (See Related Cut #4). In related news, Keys and her husband, Swizz Beatz, are expecting to deliver their baby in the coming weeks!
RIHANNA TALKS NICKI MINAJ COLLAB
During a recent interview, Rihanna opened up about her much-talked-about collaboration with Nicki Minaj. Ri Ri said of the record, which will be included on her forthcoming Loud LP, that “[Nicki] not only raps but she can write songs too. It was really easy actually.” The singer added, “We were going back on forth with the texts on how we were going to get to do it because we were in two different places and had two opposite schedules…It’s a really fun song. It’s called ‘Raining Men.’” Rihanna spilled that the track is “quite up-tempo but kind of quirky and funny.” Rihanna’s fifth studio album, Loud, is due out November 16th.
CIARA ISSUES “GIMME DAT VIDEO”
According to Rap-Up.com, Ciara has released the video for her new single, “Gimmie Dat,” off her forthcoming album, Basic Instinct. The Melina-directed clip includes Ci Ci showing off impressive dance moves in an abandoned parking lot for the club-ready song. 50 CENT WANTED BY ANIMAL RIGHTS?
BallerStatus.com has learned 50 Cent is being pursued by a South African community group to help protect a rhino named Phila, who was harassed. Since the mogul was shot nine times, the animal rights group wants him to “become the godfather of our rhino, so that he can create awareness worldwide about rhino poaching.” Andre Snyman of eBlockwatch told South Africa’s The Sunday Times that rhino poaching has doubled and many animals have been slaughtered because of it. 50 is yet to comment.
WHAT’S POACHING? CNN.com reports Rhinos are sought for their horns, which are ground into powder and used in traditional Asian medicine. In addition, full horns are also prized as dagger handles in Yemen.
SWIFT REVEALS COVER-ART FOR “BACK TO DECEMBER”
The artwork for Taylor Swift’s “Back to December” single has been revealed. The song, off of her upcoming album Speak Now, was released to iTunes today, and each week leading up to the Speak Now album release, a new track will be available for purchase. The cover art is a close-up of Taylor sporting long straight hair with bangs, while she looks down. During a brief interview with Taylor on E!, she said the song was written about, “A person who was incredible to me in a relationship and I was really careless with him. This is a song full of word I would say to him.” Speak Now will be released worldwide on October 25th.
MUSICIAINS SUPPORT ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
Multiple musicians are raising awareness for an annual holiday program for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Lady Antebellum, Jewel and many others will be participating in the 2010 Thanks and Giving campaign, which raises awareness and funds for St. Jude’s. Lady A has even recorded a national radio commercial urging fans to donate to the cause, while Jewel will be featured on the organization’s website, StJude.org.
JACK’S MANNEQUIN RE-RELEASE
Everything In Transit, the debut album from Jack’s Mannequin, has been re-issued for the first time since its original August 2005 release. The recording is being re-issued on vinyl with new artwork and sequencing, and will feature two new songs – an a cappella version of “Holiday” and “La La Lie (West Coast Winter version).” The re-issue of Everything In Transit is out now. Meanwhile, frontman Andrew McMahon will perform a special concert on November 18th in Los Angeles to benefit his Dear Jack Foundation. The evening will mark the first time McMahon will perform with both of his bands, Jack’s Mannequin and Something Corporate. GEORGE MICHAEL RELEASED FROM JAIL
According to the Associated Press, George Michael was released from jail Sunday after serving almost four weeks for driving under the influence of drugs. Michael received an eight-week sentence on September 14th for crashing his car into a London photo shop in July. The judge ordered Michael to serve four weeks of the sentence in prison and the rest on parole. He also was fined two-thousand dollars and his driver’s license has been suspended for five years.
