South Korean Artist, DAWN, Releases “Dear My Light”
South Korean artist, DAWN, releases “빛이 나는 너에게” (Eng Title: “Dear My Light”), today. Named by Rolling Stone as one of The 25 Most Stylish Musicians of 2023, “Dear My Light” is DAWN’s first release after signing with AT AREA earlier this year. DAWN says of the release “I think many people will be amused when they first listen to this song, because it’s different from the music I’ve released in the past. It’s an acoustic song, and I focused on my vocals rather than my performance. I put a lot of effort into the lyrics to send the message I wanted to tell, so I recommend everyone to listen closely to the lyrics.”

Today marks the third release from the collaboration by English alternative rock group Demob Happy Release “Pictures Of You” Adding to the Collaboration of Artists for “Just Like Heaven – A Tribute To The Cure” on April 21st. English artists Matthew Marcantonio, Adam Godfrey, and Tom Armstrong make up alternative rock group Demob Happy. Often described as “Stoner Rock”, the group layer in heavy guitar offset by catchy, laid-back, poppy and anthemic vocals. With Matthew Marcantonio (bassist, lyricist, and lead singer), Adam Godfrey (guitar, vocals), and Tom Armstrong (drums), the group has been making music since their debut EP “Dream Soda” in 2015. Since their debut, the group has grossed eight million streams on their 2018 album “Holy Doom” and retain nearly 230,000 monthly listeners. Their pop-esque alt rock reminiscent of the original track from The Cure brings the perfect addition to this tribute album.

Produced by duo DAMEDAME*, “Try Me” is a catchy, drum-heavy sound, the inspiration of which stems from “Putting yourself out there, in front of a world that has many opinions, as it only ever used to be me really being my own critic,” Jorja states on the single.
She wrote “Even Miami Is Cold” (APR 13) after a trip to spend time with her long-distance boyfriend, but within two days she realised it was like a romcom gone wrong.
The line that started it all – “Baby when I’m with you even Miami is cold” – feels like something Katharine Hepburn would fire back at Cary Grant. It’s a good reminder that even the most specific and personal stories can still live in poetry.
