Amen Sioux shares new video for “Real”
‘Real’ is a dispatch from a relationship in purgatory: “It’s just a dream, I’m drowning in my sins, I messed it up again you know” he sings in a voice that could boil water. As the fried guitars push and pull during the chorus, Amen Sioux’s anguish rushes to the foreground: “I’m willing to suspend my disbelief because I’m desperate, I’m pleading innocent girl” he wails before evoking raw and frenzied emotions with a squalling guitar solo. Amen Sioux proves that sifting through the detritus of love can be an electrifying experience.

Jennie Harluk Shares Synesthesia-Inspired Video “The Fool” – OUT TODAY
Calgary native Jennie Harluk unveils her new music video for her latest single “The Fool”, out today. “The Fool” is a quirky contradiction on its own – melodically, it is characterized by cheery shreds of silvery guitar chords that rollick with playfulness as Harluk’s croons stretch over the bouncy production, yielding a waltzy ambience. But once her listeners dissect the lyrics, they can’t help but notice the swelling heartbreak that captures the unglamorous aftermath of a breakup. Swinging between moments of serene introspection and cathartic outbursts, “The Fool ” unleashes any residual anger and sadness through an empowering, cheery groove that beckons its listeners to let go.

Buster Baer Releases Uplifting New Single “Get Deeper”
Unlike traditional slow, sad breakup songs, “Get Deeper” carries an uplifting rhythm and flow. Instead of dwelling on the hardships of his break-up, Buster Baer uses an optimistic melody accompanied by a funky bass to focus on what his relationship would look like if the couple took a necessary break to better themselves. “I wrote ‘Get Deeper’ after breaking up with a girl who was in a negative mental health space,” Baer shares. “It sort of graduated to being about a celebration of spirituality in general, which makes me laugh because spirituality is usually so calm and centered. I thought it’d be fun to get a little excited about getting mellow, to get fired up to calm down, to get hot and bothered about cooling off and taking it easy.” The eloquent lyrics reveal the saddening truth Baer faces when he realizes that to move forward, he must take a break. “I think I love you enough to leave you for your own sake” is a bittersweet line in the song that perfectly summarizes the essence of this story. “Get Deeper” resembles indie-soul with a touch of funk, taking inspiration from early-Beatles and Bootsy Collins to modern-day influences like Chiefly, Tame Impala, and Mac Demarco. Baer’s musical style can be described as retro-indie with a lot of early 60’s soul influence. His music has been compared to The Doors, Roy Orbison, and the Mile High Club, to name a few.
Converge Unveil New Single “Coil”
A true team effort, Jacob Bannon comments, “’Coil’ turned out to be one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been a part of. There is an infectious slow build that ends up becoming theatrical in tone. Lyrically it was a true collaboration, with all of us expanding on each other’s ideas as they came to be. I believe Chelsea’s vocal was the starting point in that for this one. Kurt really pushed vocal harmonies to a new level as well. Encouraging many of Steve’s ideas while we were in the studio tracking together. This one really has every one of us firing on all cylinders creatively.”

LOU RIDLEY UNLEASHES “HELLFIRE”; NEW EP ANGEL/OUTLAW OUT DEC. 2ND
Rising Nashville-based singer-songwriter Lou Ridley offers a peek into her upcoming EP with a powerful intro and visual for “Hellfire.” An ode to her grandfather’s favorite curse word, “Hellfire” narrates how quickly the blurred lines between love and hate in an unhealthy relationship can be crossed; and the strength it takes to reclaim your power. Reminiscing, Lou states “I remember one night watching my ex sleep and thinking to myself: if he continues to treat me this poorly one of us is going to end up dead. I can’t let that person be me.” The Director and Cinematographer Bethany Reed captures a seemingly dazed Lou riding a mechanical bull and swaying alone on a red-lighted dancefloor in an empty Cotton Eyed Joes club. The intro is the first release from her forthcoming 6-track EP, Angel/Outlaw coming December 2nd which also wields a ChopNotSlop remix of the track by DJ Candlestick.
