Montreal Experimental 5-Piece RedFox Soothe Anxious Minds with New Single & Album

Canadian experimental alt-folk group RedFox are set to soothe anxious minds and reinforce personal journeys with the release of their new single, “Mellow Out” and album Stranger Love — available now.

Blending traditional folk motifs with an ambient electronic sound, the Montreal-based band spin traditional instruments like the banjo, violin, and acoustic guitar on their heads, fusing conventional bluegrass rhythms with alternative rock-based guitar and vocals — inventively applying them to modern electronic production in a way that maintains the sound’s soul and skill.

AQUILUS has released a second single “Lucille’s Gate” from the upcoming album Bellum I . Horace Rosenqvist, composer and producer, remarks “this track showcases some of the more blackened metal elements on the album. And the killer drumming by the AQUILUS live/session drummer Zebadee Scott.”

ICYMI: Morgan Wade Profiled in HITS

“Given that she writes about pills and cigarettes, wanting ‘to get you high and lay you down,’ older men who can’t man up and the existential weight of what doesn’t work out, Wade is musically austere, Loretta Lynn-frank and Mary Chapin Carpenter-real about coming up short as well as Kacey Musgraves-astute in ciphering small-town mores.”

“Wade developed a voice that’s both little-girl sweet and she-pirate swaggering; fearless, even when she’s needy, she’ll throw down hard facts and her own sometimes thwarted sexual craving with brutal honesty.”

Anthrax Bassist Frank Bello Releases Memoir Today – Fathers, Brothers, and Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, and Anthrax

Rare Bird is excited to announce the release of Frank Bello’s Fathers, Brothers, and Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, and Anthrax, coauthored with Joel McIver, including a foreword by Gene Simmons of KISS.

Frank Bello, bassist with the legendary New York thrash metal band Anthrax since 1984 – one of the “big four” of thrash metal – has sold over 10 million albums, travelled the globe more times than he cares to count and enthralled audiences from the world’s biggest stages. He and his bandmates have even been awarded keys to the Bronx in recognition of their status. His long-awaited memoir would be a gripping read even if its pages only contained stories about his life as a recording and touring musician. While those stories are indeed included—and will blow your mind—Bello also focuses on deeper subjects in Fathers, Brothers, and Sons. Once you’ve heard his life story, you’ll understand why.

Track Submission from Pale Ramon

In February of last year (2020), Pale Ramon began recording their sophomore album, ‘Annie,’ in the Catskills with D. James Goodwin at The Isokon. At the conclusion of those sessions, they left feeling elated, and continued production back home in Brooklyn. As New York went into lockdown last March, the duo began working on the album in their home studios separately. Every few weeks, they shared their individual productions, while living the universal tension of COVID and the 2020 election year. After a few additional days at The Creamery studio with Jeff Fettig in September, they sent the tracks back to Goodwin for the final mix and mastering.

AUSSIE TROUBADOUR THOMAS KEATING RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘LUNATIC’

Reflecting on the video, made in collaboration with filmmaker Kieran Gilfeather, Thomas explains “It’s been such an insane couple of years and I am tired of taking myself and the world too seriously. I wanted to create something that expressed the bizarre time we have all just been through. This video is not meant to be a dig at either side of the political system. I just wanted to try and bring some humour and lightness to all of it. This is me in my own weird way trying to celebrate our move forward out of what we have just been through.”

Jackson Dyer Shares Video For “At Ease”

“”At Ease” is a song about mornings at home, when the coffee is freshly brewed and the sun is filtering through the curtains. It’s about those moments of absolute contentment when you wake up with someone special besides you and the day is pure and untouched by the stress and obligations of the outside world. ‘At Ease’ was a calming song for me to produce, almost meditating on the warm optimism of mornings and love.” – Jackson Dyer

video: PAAPA-BERCHIE, “NO TURNING BACK”

How I overcame trials and tribulations in my life to get to where I am today. How I was able to find my purpose and meaning in life, and now am able to fully lock in and focus. This song is the defining meaning of closing the chapters of my life from the past, and living in the moment. For yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, which is why we call the present. Whatever we decide to do in life, perform at it to the best of your ability living with zero regrets, for there’s NO TURNING BACK.”
