Describing on the track a relationship that’s on the rocks, and a love that is destructive Nao sings: “said I won’t break, said I won’t change my ways not even this time”.

The song is the first single from Lorde’s forthcoming third studio album which will be released via Universal Music New Zealand on August 20th. The album includes 12 tracks and is produced by Jack Antonoff who she collaborated with on her chart-topping last album, Melodrama.

MALRUN present their second single ‘King of Madness’
Following up on their first single ‘The Punishment’, Aarhus-based quintet MALRUN now present ‘King of Madness’. On the coming full-length album, ‘Pandemonium’ you can expect the band to take a step further in a heavier and more aggressive and progressive direction, which is perfectly showcased by the new single:
Dan Croll releases his new single ‘Big One’ out today + ‘On Top’ EP out July 23rd
Following on from the release of the EP’s title-track, ‘Big One’ looks to continue the fresh and vibrant direction that this new release is heading in. Continuing the journey of new beginnings that ran through his previous full-length, this new offering offers a bright and upbeat juxtaposition to the turmoil that surrounded his time in LA during the pandemic.
Evan Wright (ffo Angel Olsen, Cory Hanson) | Shares new single / Album out August 25
This body of work comes entirely mixed, produced and recorded by Evan, partially in his NY apartment before he had to decamp to his parents’ place in NJ due to Covid (which is where he ultimately completed it). It’s a lovely fusion of country-folk-tinged psychedelia, it definitely holds some comparison with the likes of Andy Shauf and Angel Olsen, but also with the slightly more psych-indie shades of Kurt Vile, Jacco Gardner and Cory Hanson. It’s a pretty, introspective sound that finds Evan making some teary rearview mirror observations, this new one comes inspired by the detachment from everyday frustrations. It’s a wonderfully textured track with fizzing stutters of guitar and gloopy synth sounds, something indebted to his experimentation with manipulating sounds using cassettes and tape.
Praises (ffo Zola Jesus, Chelsea Wolfe, Portishead) | Shares new single / EP – August 5
Crowe previously found success at Cvlt Nation, Xtra Magazine and Exclaim but this new EP – out August 5 – really levels up on some of their eerie, electronic goth tones which to me, draw on the likes of Nick Cave, Annie Lennox’s avant-gardism, Rachel Goswell’s shoegaze and Patti Smith’s poetic delivery.
