KORN ANNOUNCE U.S. SUMMER TOUR
Produced by Live Nation, the coast-to-coast 28-city outing will kick off August 5th in West Palm Beach, FL and make stops in Long Island, Detroit, Irvine, Phoenix, Austin and more, before wrapping up with a performance at Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion on September 21st. Furthermore, both bands will perform at Louisville, Kentucky’s Louder Than Life Festival on September 23rd.

Evil “Broken Wing” video out now
Today Evil follows up the release of their first 2021 single “Broken Wing” with a video shot in the mountains and countryside of their home in rural Virginia. Evil constructed the sculpture that they are seen breaking free from, a metaphor for the constraints of society and religion in the Black queer experience that is also found in their music. Co-produced by Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses), “Broken Wing” is a modern country song, with Evil’s delicate poetry pondering atop classic steel pedal guitar.

“KICK IT” was written by Meshae Boateng and produced by Kwajo Cinqo and Rob Kelly. “The inspiration behind the song Kick It, is more or so having that constant feeling of wanting to vibe and chill with someone who you are beginning to show interest in and getting to know,” mentions Meshae. “You just want to be with them all day,” she shares with a laugh.

The band comments: “‘Lavondėmės’ in the Lithuanian language is a word describing Livor mortis, also known as hypostasis, which is an accumulation of stagnated blood causing a purplish red skin colour of a deceased body. This song and video is a metaphor for inner stagnation and an overwhelming effort to overcome it. The idea is closely related to the main theme of the album ‘Savigaila’ which translates as ‘self-pity.’ The visual is portraying a sense of helplessness in a search for meaning through an endless mind clutter. Being obstructed by senseless actions, it is difficult to maintain directional movement and therefore even more difficult to accept responsibility for your own self, being able to create your own meaning to break free from stagnation and therefore achieve happiness.”

Reservoir Beach is more of the duo’s bright & playful glitch-pop, riddled with Gen-Z lyricism of general anxiety. “We wrote this song about a reservoir that we both live by. It’s the summer spot that you go to and hang around, getting high with your friends. Utah is land locked so this the closest thing we have to a beach. Anyone who lives by the ocean would laugh at it. It’s not a lake or much of a beach, but it’s the closest thing we have. The song is a catchy pop tune about losing track of yourself and time and getting into the loop of aimlessness. It’s like that movie Groundhog Day- everyday kind of starts to feel the same, but you don’t really mind it too much.”
