Mark Ambuter New Video For “When it’s Right Now With You and the World”
THE DEAD SOUTH SHARE NEW VIDEO FOR “THE RECAP.”
The Dead South always planned to document the Served Cold World Tour, which would take the band from their hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan through 200 shows in over 20 countries. Now, with show postponements into 2022, the band offers fans a snapshot of their lauded live show with Served Live, a double live album and complete set list collection recorded at venues across North America, UK and Ireland in 2019-2020. A fitting offering for a “touring band without a tour,” Served Live captures the energy, spontaneity and musicianship of a band built for the road, on the road.
Justin Nozuka Shares “summer night o8” Via Clash
Detailing the background of “summer night o8,” Nozuka says: “This song was written in August of 2019. It was a beautiful summer day and my friend Mitch and I made plans to make some music. We took a healthy dose of psilocybin and went to the park. This big storm cloud kept approaching and we were ready to be under it, but it seemed to never arrive. Mitch went up to my spot to grab his things as he was gonna get going. As he left the storm finally arrived and I lay under it, the rain poured down heavy. I then had this urge to write and ran back, saw Mitch just as he was leaving and asked “yo, let’s jam?”. He was absolutely down and we came back up to my spot, he sat on the keys, I grabbed my guitar and the song pretty much wrote itself.”
Lindsey Stirling and Mako Release Emotive New Single “Lose You Now”
“This song was on my album as an instrumental song, but I always knew it was really special,” shares Stirling. “I am so grateful for Mako for the lyrics he wrote to ‘Lose You Now’ because he perfectly captured the feelings I’d never been able to put into words. I actually balled like a baby the first time I heard his version. I felt like my father and best friend (both of whom have passed away) were giving me a big warm hug. Creating this song and the music video has brought me a sense of peace. The video is full of special memories and signs that represent the people I’ve lost. I used to have cereal picnics with my dad. Whenever I see a monarch butterfly, I feel like my friend Gavi is checking in on me. The little fox stuffed animal represents my baby niece, who passed away this summer. These little Easter eggs and many more make this video so special to me. Now, as we release it, I hope to share that hug and healing with the world. We can all use it right now.”
Brendan Scott Friel – New Single: Cheap String Lights
Produced by James Bunton (Donovan Woods, Joey Landereth), we had discussed the interlude of the song having this psychedelic vibe, where the listener travels into the narrator’s backyard where suddenly everything has come alive, as showcased in the single artwork above. I hope that someone will throw this on a tiny bluetooth speaker in their backyard at night sitting by a propane fire pit and have the sense that their backyard has come alive, too.

BE GOOD Release Everything’s Alright In The Evening EP
Oxford-based BE GOOD release their new EP, Everything’s Alright In The Evening, available now on streaming services HERE. The band’s latest project explores themes of young love and loneliness against a backdrop of suburbia in unending twilight, a world where everything is simultaneously mundane yet all-encompassing. Recorded initially in the band’s home studio, the collection was completed in a remote farm cottage in the north of England during UK lockdown. Field recordings from the band members’ daily lives are woven into the production of every track, serving to infuse each song with the localized soundscape it inhabits. “Young Strangers” opens the EP, an upbeat ’80s-influenced indie pop track mixed by Lee Smith (Easy Life, Holly Humberstone). The lyrics explore the aftermath of a break-up—the limbo state in which you try to pull apart but the fibers of both your lives are still intertwined.

‘Song For Elsa’ has a subtle redemptive quality
WASSAILER, the pseudonym of London-based multi-talented artist Will Serfass has just dropped a new heartfelt video and single ‘Song for Elsa’, taken from his upcoming debut album as a solo artist since leaving indie-pop trio We Were Evergreen.
Released today on 18th January, also known as Blue Monday, ‘Rain’ is a dark yet comforting track which will resonate with those who are feeling the January blues. The first track created on his upcoming project, Luke found ‘Rain’ to be a remedy for his own feelings of exhaustion from trying to live up to the expectations of others rather than doing what was true to himself.
Joel Culpepper ‘Poetic Justice’
Speaking on the track Joel said: “I got to write this one with Tom Misch after a session for his album project with Yussef Dayes. Tom reached out after hearing “Afraid to be King” produced by Roy Davis Jr. Pleased he did cause I’ve been a fan of his work for a while. I feel like Justice is poetry but it’s also complex. Part of justice is forgiveness, no longer enslaved by the pain of what someone’s done to you but the ability to move on from it”
Alex Southey Reveals Mysterious Single “Rosie”
“Rosie,” the brand new single from Southey, evokes a mysterious attraction to his hometown of Vancouver. For a long time, Southey felt like he was giving to something that never gave anything back.
Inglewood Rabble Rouser White John Shares ‘Cases Still Pending’ EP ft. Rucci & OMB Peezy
Buoyed by a sterling reputation and known by many aliases–the White Gurb, Mr. F*ck The LAPD, Mr. F*ck The Police–White John is one of the most colorful characters in L.A.’s flourishing rap scene. Painting a picture of his chaotic and cinematic life in Inglewood, White John shares Cases Still Pending, his new EP. Wielding a laid-back, yet insistent flow, John sits firmly in the pocket of the propulsive West Coast production, crafted by the likes of scene sound architects like Beat Boy and Ace The Face, alternating outlandish flexes and hedonistic odes to the turn-up lifestyle with sober reflections on the realities of street life. The EP features two appearances from John’s Mackk&Co affiliate Rucci, underlining the EP’s emphasis on the importance of loyalty. The sequel to last year’s Cases Pending EP, home to the rapper’s street hit “Crazy,” Cases Still Pending is available on all platforms.

Ambient Post-Rock Artist ALASKAN TAPES Announces New Album; Shares Track
Today, Alaskan Tapes announces his new album, For Us Alone, will be released on April 16, 2021. The moniker represents Toronto-based composer Brady Kendall’s ever-evolving ambient music project. The record will be Kendall’s fifth outing and follows his 2019 full-length Views From Sixteen Stories.
Alaskan Tapes explains, “On ‘For Us Alone’ there isn’t as much of a story as there is a simple concept: I wanted to continue the sound I was going for on ‘Views From Sixteen Stories’ and make the songs I was trying to finish by the end of that process. Of course, some songs have their own personal story, but it’s also not uncommon for a track to be written just because it sounds nice. There’s more structure to these songs, which still segue nicely from the end of the last album.”
