Artist: Rebecca Downes – Track: Mama Weer All Crazee Now
Winner of the Best Female Vocalist and Best Emerging Artist at the British Blues Awards 2016, Birmingham (UK)-based Rebecca and her band are a ‘must see’ live act that often leaves newcomers simply blown away by the power of the performance. With her co-writer Steve Birkett alongside her, a very tight band behind, and Rebecca’s powerful voice to the fore, the 5-piece outfit performs original tracks from the EP Real Life, the highly-acclaimed debut album Back To The Start and the superb second album Believe, and latest album More Sinner Than Saint, punctuated by a few classic covers. The core of their music is the Blues, but they embrace elements of rock, soul, funk and jazz to deliver an exciting, passionate set.

BRINSLEY SCHWARZ – Releases official video for ‘Storm In The Hills’
Directed by Brinsley Schwarz and co-produced with videographer Paul “Rile” Avis, the video has a loose environmental theme which aptly correlates with the narrative of the song. The video was exclusively premiered by Vive Le Rock.
“Storm In The Hills” is Brinsley’s first single from a brand new solo album entitled ‘Tangled’, set to be released later this year. With Brinsley playing most of the instruments, the track is notably hallmarked with the characteristic guitar sound he brought to the ’70’s pub rock band of his namesake: Brinsley Schwarz; plus more recently as lead guitarist for Graham Parker & The Rumour.
Varmia (Pol) “bal Lada” @ Pagan Black Metal
Polish pagan alchemists VARMIA – who pay tribute to their Baltic roots by combining black metal with traditional instruments such as the goat horn and the tagelharpa – will release their third album (and M-Theory Audio debut), “bal Lada,” on March 12. The cover artwork, which was designed by percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Piotr, can be viewed above. Singer-songwriter Grace Parry releases new single ‘Real’
Grace Parry, a Welsh singer-songwriter, has been playing the piano and composing her own songs since she was five years old. Her latest single, ‘Real’, is a heartfelt ode to the joy of falling madly, passionately, head over heels in love.
Grace explains: ”Real’ is about finding someone who gives you that real, authentic love. Being so in love with someone that they make every day feel like a fantasy…. I have often imagined how it would feel to be deeply in love with someone and have no reservations whatsoever. For many of us, whether we admit it or not, we fantasise about having that real love and passion….’

Lonely The Brave release “Keeper” documentary
The band, based as they are between Cambridgeshire, Bristol and West Yorkshire, had to forgo any plans for a traditional music video but, instead, pre-lockdown put together a short documentary about what exactly were their “keepers” from a difficult last year for everyone. Filmed in person in each of the band’s hometowns, it takes a look at the realities for a band releasing during the pandemic, with two members working on the frontline for the NHS (Mo as an ambulance driver and Bush as a nurse on the Covid wards), but also puts a focus on those things we are grateful for and tells the story of how, against the odds, this album came to be.
