Ska + Sub-Saharan Blues! Check Out Kuwaisiana’s “Cymbal Of The City”
Kuwaisiana is a New Orleans based band led by Kuwaiti songwriter, +Aziz and they’re here to help us end the year on a high note! Today the band is sharing “Cymbal of This City,” the second single off their upcoming EP, ‘Chapter 2,’ out January 15th.
Combining traditional Khaleeji rhythms with elements of ska, Sub-Saharan blues, and New Orleans brass music, “Cymbal of This City” is both danceable and poignant. With lyrics in English AND Arabic, the track examines +Aziz’s Arab identity through the lens of something we’ve all felt before- alienation.

Joemayk is a guitarist, singer-songwriter and music producer of Venezuelan origin, he began his musical career as soloist under the name of Aaron Avanish in 1999 with his simple “Dame”, in 2006 he decided to move to Madrid where he published his first work “A pasos desiertos” which gets an excellent acceptance in 2009, in 2013 he published two new singles “Como los gigantes” and “Contigo pa’ siempre” in 2016 JoeMayk moves to London and decides to change the direction of his career composing in English his ep “Love” composed of 7 songs, in 2018 he decides to change his artistic name in the search of his true style and his new name adopting his first name joined to his second name Joemayk and publishes his latest work “Drive Somewhere” which he expresses is a moment of change through which he goes. in 2019 he released his third musical work animal soul, an ep composed of 5 songs in which he shows his influence towards the genres heartland rock, Glam rock and Soft Rock.

DAN WEISS STAREBABY, the NYC-based avant-jazz supergroup led by drummer DAN WEISS, presents an engaging new official video for “Head Wreck.” The collective sees WEISS joined by Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Fantômas) on bass, Ben Monder on guitar, and the twin-attack of Matt Mitchell and Craig Taborn on keyboards, pianos, and electronics.
“Head Wreck” is found on the outfit’s acclaimed second LP, Natural Selection, which saw release in September via jazz label Pi Recordings. The intriguing and intense album was expertly captured by veteran recording engineer Ron Saint Germain (Soundgarden, Living Colour, Bad Brains, Sonic Youth) and mastered by Joe Gastwirt. The video for “Head Wreck” was directed and filmed by Mimi Chakarova and edited by Derek O. Hanley and showcases this incredibly proficient unit capturing the song in the studio.

UK Indie Rock Outfit LAKES Debuts New “Pine Barrens” Music Video
What began as drummer Matt Shaw’s acoustic demos back in 2017 quickly developed into a six-piece band, bonding over a love of artists like American Football, Minus The Bear and The Appleseed Cast. The group has taken influence from mid-western emo, math-rock and alternative indie and combined those with Fleetwood Mac style dual-vocal pop melodies and twinkling glockenspiel to create their trademark “Glock-Rock” sound.
Earning their stripes in pubs and clubs of the Watford music scene, Lakes have been emboldened with a DIY attitude that was born from frustration of life on the peripheries of a capital city. Moonscape – Entity, Chapter II: Echoes From A Cognitive Dystopia – (Heavy Metal)
MOONSCAPE is a melodic death/progressive/power metal oriented project which was formed back in 2015 by Håvard Lunde, based in Gjøvik, Norway. Musical inspirations and influences include bands like EDGE OF SANITY, OPETH, ENTOMBED, AYREON, HELLOWEEN, YES, JETHRO TULL and many more. After many years of trying to find a proper musical direction in which he felt comfortable, he formed MOONSCAPE after rediscovering EDGE OF SANITY’s 1996 classic «Crimson» album, an album that stood out as the ultimate inspiration already in his adolescent years when he first became musically active. The idea of creating music that had low-tuned guitars with good melodies on top was an appealing one, and with added atmospheric and symphonic elements and variations in terms of texture and arrangement, he was better able to reach his goal; to create a large scale composition that his listeners would later on refer to as «a musical journey».
The White Stripes share 90-minute animated yule log video
The White Stripes have put their own spin on the classic yule log video with a 90-minute looping illustrated clip directed by Noah Sterling. The video’s soundtrack consists of songs from The White Stripes Greatest Hits (out now via Third Man/Columbia), acoustic tracks, rare b-sides and the original Christmas song “Candy Cane Children.”

ANDREKZA Releases Visuals for Latest Single “Nerviosa”
Venezuelan artist and creative director ANDREKZA releases the visuals to “Nerviosa,” the latest single off of her forthcoming debut EP, Cassette Lado A, set to be released early 2021 via Steve Aoki’s Latin imprint – Dim Mak En Fuego. The visuals were shot in Los Angeles and directed by ANDREKZA and Macksimo, as well as edited and color corrected by the multifaceted and talented artist herself.
“In the video, I’m portraying a specific occurring scene I dream up in my head when I like someone so much that I get nervous to the point of getting butterflies in my stomach as I try to be myself. I love being behind the scenes in each of my projects to be able to recreate these dreams and tie them back to my music,” explains ANDREKZA about the “Nerviosa” video.
