GLASS PEAKS SHARE ATMOSPHERIC INDIE-POP TRACK ‘LIFT ME’
London alt-indie three piece Glass Peaks have just released their new single ‘Lift Me’ – an atmospheric arena-indie-pop track, that is fueled by the melodic guitar sound that Glass Peaks are known for.
“It’s about needing someone else’s strength and realising that no matter how resilient you are, you can’t always carry the world on your shoulders. It’s about the heady romantic night walks followed by mind numbing arguments. It’s about realising your own self worth and actually putting your foot down for once. I suppose in general it’s just about making a statement, and implementing the changes you want to see.”
ELLA HENDERSON AND ROGER SANCHEZ JOIN FORCES FOR ‘DREAM ON ME’
Co-written with MNEK (Beyoncé, Madonna, Dua Lipa) and Wrabel (Ellie Goulding, Kesha), with production courtesy of Roger and Jordan Riley (Mabel, Sigrid), ‘Dream On Me’ is a massive dance hit about longing to be with the person you love, interpolating Roger’s worldwide hit, ‘Another Chance’, which hit the Number 1 spot in the UK back in 2001.
Speaking on the EP Sola said:”I worked on this project almost completely alone my bedroom, which allowed me to craft something that feels quite authentic to my experiences. Lots of the lyrics deal with isolation and craving deeper relationships. I had just moved back to London after nearly 6 years in New York, and was struggling to readjust to a different pace in my social life. I spent more time alone then I had in years, giving me the chance to rediscover a lot of the music I grew up on, especially early productions by Timberland and Pharrell, and how they incorporated sounds from across the world in their work. I wanted to balance this with a darker and mysterious sound. As a collection of songs, I wanted something that represented my multifaceted musical upbringing, from ambient to jazz and electronica and I used my voice to fuse these things together into a more cohesive experience.”

In speaking about the new video and deluxe album release, Peach Pit’s lead-singer Neil Smith says: “‘Psychics in LA’ was always one of our favorite songs, but for various reasons we decided not to put it on the album. We had an amazing time shooting a video for it, complete with a taxidermy cat. No cats were harmed during the making of this video, our cat died a peaceful death from natural causes many years ago. Anyway, we can’t wait to release these extra songs into the world! We hope you enjoy. :)”
Sammy Wilk + JVCKJ (Jack & Jack) Release “In Between”
-After an unprecedented start to 2020, KSR Records Recording Artist/Songwriter Sammy Wilk returns today with his second single of the year, reuniting with longtime friend and collaborator, JVCKJ for the emotionally-charged “In Between.” [Click here to listen]
Backed by a mid-tempo track driven by an ominous mandolin and trap-inspired drums, Sammy once again taps into the authenticity and honesty that has always driven his music. On “In Between” he bares his soul as he examines the darker side of the lavish lifestyle afforded to him by his success. Throughout the song, both Sammy and JVCKJ pack lyrics like the hook “I feel like I’m swimming in between, in between real life and fantasy,” with a palatable raw emotion. And while the subject at hand is heavy, the song feels like a moment of clarity where with an added boost of hopeful energy.

Gabriel Garzón-Montano Presents New Album Agüita
Gabriel Garzón-Montano shared Agüita’s final pre-release and 2nd Latin single, “Muñeca,” this past Tuesday which is part of new album Agüita (out today on Jagjaguwar in association with Stones Throw). Following previous singles, “Bloom,” “Agüita,” and “Someone” – the latter praised by The New York Times as a “deliberately sluggish beat punctuated by sticky, squishy clavinet notes, while the vocal line makes jazzy leaps that sound increasingly distraught” – “Muñeca” further demonstrates Garzón-Montano’s diverse range, delving into club-banger territory, and samples legendary reggae duo Sly & Robbie. The title itself means “doll” in Spanish, which is, according to Garzón-Montano, a”tacky but sweet way” of addressing a woman in Latin America.
Rucci Continues His Inglewood Story with ‘Midget’ Album
Motivated by living up to his family legacy and honoring the memory of his late friend and rap partner, Rucci’s drive to succeed is deeper than rap. Writing the next chapter of his underdog story, the Inglewood native shares Midget, his new album. Titled after a nickname given to him during his youth, the sequel to last year’s acclaimed Tako’s Son finds Rucci maturing as an artist, while still treating his fans to the deliriously ratchet punchlines they’ve come to expect. Though he’s still one of the best at the game at delivering disrespectful neo-West Coast slappers–including “Bad Boys” featuring his frequent collaborator AzChike–Midget shines when Rucci gets in touch with his feelings, saluting a ride-or-die bae with the Zapp & Roger-sampling “Killa,” lamenting a lost friendship in the touching and melodic “Understand,” and silencing his doubters with help from Mozzy in “Believe In Me.

Atlantic Records’ Bri Steves is back with “Stick Up” alongside fellow Philly rapper, Poundside Pop and refuses to fit in any societal boxes. The lead single and video off her forthcoming EP, “Stick Up” (produced by Nabeyin) is a stellar exhibition of Bri’s talent for penning melody and motivation while breaking the female rapper mold, redefining the experience and unapologetically making it her own. The Janoff-directed visual showcases the two rappers flexing through the streets of “Brotherly Love,” proving the cocoa beauty’s ability to walk into any boy’s club and spit for the entire female experience.

JACK HENDERSON – ‘Where’s The Revolution’ out Today || Watch Video for its Title-Track
“Societal change is a slow moving beast. It seems we are all too frequently persuaded to endure extended political and economic oppression in the interest of some ‘greater authority’. We know all too well institutionalised power will not give up its privilege willingly, but as Malcolm X said, “I believe that there will ultimately be a clash between the oppressed and those that do the oppressing. I believe that there will be a clash between those who want freedom, justice and equality for everyone and those who want to continue the systems of exploitation.”
