Des Cox releases animated music video for “In My Day”
The main vocal on Des Cox’s new record ‘In My Day’ is the same as was performed and recorded live on the cruise ship the QE2, so recording was pretty basic with none of the modern day technical marvels. Although it is that same live vocal without any gimmicks, the recording places emphasis on the song and its humor, a combination that Des really hopes will now be heard all over the world. His ultimate dream is to see the world to become a nicer, better and more enjoyable place. And so with any luck this song will go globally and make his dream of replacing all the doom and gloom with fun and laughter and those all-important smiles to people all over the world, regardless of race, religion background or whatever, for he really wants us all to be, well… happy!

Glamglare’s Song Pick of the Day: Lolabye by Mima Good
Mima Good sings about times she has laughed to cover up pain. Lolabye begins with Garland yelling, “I’ve laughed at myself when I should have cried”, as a chorus of voices sings “hehehe, oh”. A playful keyboard carries the melody through heavy bass and drums. Good sings about different troupes of femininity she feels subjected to: a kept woman, a doll, a hysterical female, and finally reflects on the experience of being a female bartender. She riffs over singsongy laughter as a synth explodes into a dreamy outro. Mima fingerpicks a guitar and sings a lullaby with sleepy lyrics on love and childhood. We feel like we’re floating on a cloud, ascending above our stressful society and over the rainbow.
