Folk-pop songstress Ariela Jacobs has today announced the release of Missing You (Acoustic), a delicate and stripped back take of the studio produced track of the same name which was released in 2019. Where the original track swept you along with reverberant synthesised soundscapes and a beat felt deep in your chest, the acoustic version makes you feel as though you are sitting in a corner of the same room with Ariela, getting your very own intimate piano performance.

Gentle piano and with vocals that will melt even the most cynical of hearts, this track is all you could want from a folk song, and a soft and pensive respite from the flurry of today’s synthetic world. Speaking of the track, Ariela says “Missing You could be perceived as a universal love song of regret and yearning. However, this was written on an impulse of craving past versions of self. Living with anxiety the past few years, I needed to externalise what I was thinking and feeling. I was kind of saying, ‘Old self, are you in there – where are you? Please come out now, it’s ok.'” She adds, “After releasing (acoustic track) Morning it felt so therapeutic to release something so raw. I wanted to take the essence of Missing You and record it again in its original form. There’s something very sacred about keeping a song in its initial birthing/developmental period.”
