ANE BRUN has announced details of a brand new single, ‘Honey’, which will be released by her label, Balloon Ranger Recordings, on June 5, 2020. It’s the fifth taste of her as-yet-untitled eighth studio album, which will represent her first of original material since 2015’s acclaimed When I’m Free. Due in stores this autumn, it follows 2017’s exquisite collection of cover versions, Leave Me Breathless. BRUN embarks on a lengthy European tour in October.

Probably the most savage and intelligent dark punk/metal hybrid in years, the eleven tracks comprising Skeleton signal the black dawn of a new breed; war-like hymns for the soldiers of a scorched apocalypse to come, from which a bleak alternate future will emerge. And when the final somber strains of “Catacombs” close out the album, an eerie sense of the end as the beginning lingers like a morbid premonition.

West Coast Highway Cosmic sees Datura4 stretch out and experiment with their sound that they’ve been building on ever since their debut release Demon Blues in 2015. “I see every album as an extension from the previous one,” admits frontman Dom Mariani, “and I’m conscious about not rehashing the same things over. The collection of tunes on WCHC is slightly more eclectic than on the previous albums, which makes it really interesting and exciting for albums in the future. There was a more spontaneous and looser approach for the majority of the recording, where we would take the basic song idea and let things go until we had the take that we liked. We got into the grooves you might say.”

DØBER is back on Protocol with his new single “Tear The Roof,” a party-ready track that follows up on his debut “Twisted” EP from earlier this year. The newcomer’s propensity for intense club music, that toes the line between electro and tech-house, is once again evident in the form of heavy percussive synths over a driving bassline and distorted, catchy vocals. “Tear The Roof” is uniquely different from previous tracks “Make It Better” and “Losing My Mind,” which channeled more groovy and trap influences, respectively, indicating that DØBER has more up his sleeve than meets the eye.

Berlin-based Discovery Zone releases her debut album, Remote Control, today on Mansions and Millions

New York born, Berlin based musician and film maker JJ Weihl is set to release her debut solo record as Discovery Zone on June 5th via cult Berlin label Mansions and Millions.
Her album Remote Control, with its palette of chimes, chirps and shimmers, is a glowing meditation on our contradictory moment in history. In her hands, the limitations of the default setting form a territory of unbounded experimentation, from the system-notification synth funk of “Dance II” to the trance incantations of “Blissful Morning Dream Interpretation Melody.”

The Villa Shares Debut Single & Video “Turning Point”
“First of all, a little bit of a backstory is we shot that video during the coronavirus pandemic,” vocalist Michael Bohn shares with Alternative Press. “We had to be sneaky about it, so we did it at my house. It’s not the craziest video, but it was cool that we were just able to pull it off. We want to do a follow-up video to it too to explain more about it, but it’s basically me starting the Villa and the coming together of everyone. Hopefully, that’s in the follow-up video to make it make a little more sense. It’s about being obsessed with this thing and this project and this band and me going to start my journey. In the lyrics, this is the start of a revolution, and it’s me starting this new journey and the coming together of the Villa. I’m trying to refrain from saying cult because I don’t want it to come across like that, but it has that vibe. In the follow-up video, we’re hoping to show more people coming together in this whole group.”
