Oumou Sangaré Announces New Album ‘Acoustic’
Malian superstar Oumou Sangaré today announces Acoustic, a forthcoming new album re-imagining her much-praised 2017 release Mogoya, totally unplugged, in live sessions captured over just two days. Acoustic is the final chapter in a trio of related projects — 2018’s Mogoya Remixed saw Sangaré’s compositions retooled by high-profile fans including Sampha, Spoek Mathambo and St Germain. Acoustic will be released by Nø Førmat digitally on June 19, 2020, with physical formats available from August 28, 2020.

Fountains of Wayne Release “Hackensack” Featuring Sharon Van Etten on Bandcamp
Last week, as part of the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund’s JERSEY 4 JERSEY benefit raising funds to fight the impact of COVID-19, the surviving members of Fountains of Wayne reunited for their first live performance in 7 years to pay tribute to songwriter, bassist, and vocalist Adam Schlesinger who passed away a month ago today. The band’s Chris Collingwood, Jody Porter and Brian Young were joined by acclaimed singer-songwriter and New Jerseyan Sharon Van Etten to fill in on bass and backing vocals on the 2003 Fountains of Wayne song “Hackensack.”
NEW MUSIC FROM DAVID BROZA – “Tears for Barcelona”
“Tears for Barcelona” is the first single from David Broza’s new album en Casa Limón, set for release September 2020 by S-Curve Records/BMG. The album, produced by Grammy-award winner Javier Limón, is Broza’s first endeavor at an all-instrumental guitar album.
A longtime fan of the Spanish guitar, Broza has incorporated many styles of flamenco, jazz, classical into his performance repertoire. Over the years, fans and friends have repeatedly requested a guitar instrumental album. “After 43 years as a singer-songwriter, composing music without lyrics was a challenging task,” shares Broza.
“I had to perfect my playing to become a guitarist by trade. It took a while – almost 3 years.”

THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG: Grammy Award-winning singer Michael Bublé heard the song “Gotta Be Patient,” written by Spanish artists Stay Homas, while self-quarantined with his family in Vancouver. He loved it and immediately shared it on his Facebook page. The response from fans was overwhelming and it inspired him to record it with a little help from long-time friends Barenaked Ladies and Warner-Latino Mexican artist Sofia Reyes.

Judah Akers’ Pink Laundry Releases New Track “Dirty Converse” – Out Now!
The new project from the Judah & the Lion frontman comes just over a month after he launched the project and debut single, “Like It Like This.” At the end of 2019, Akers had just wrapped up a world tour in support of Judah & the Lion’s last album Pep Talks and began 2020 by taking time to write a ton of new music. Eventually he realized that the music he was making didn’t feel like it fit into the Judah & the Lion story, so he created Pink Laundry. He teamed up with engineer Drew Long and musicians Garrett Tyler (percussion) and Hannah Tyler (violin) to help bring his DIY vision to life. Akers describes their collaboration on “Dirty Converse:”
