As promised, instrumental Post-Doom quartet CLOUDS TASTE SATANIC will release their sixth album on October 31, 2019, on Halloween. The new record ‘Second Sight’ features two 20-minute songs on two sides of vinyl and is the second of two CLOUDS TASTE SATANIC records out this year.
Consider ‘Second Sight’ to be Part 2 of a two record set, which sees the band maintaining their “Riffs Rule All” credo, with added doses of introspection by way of mixed tempos, spacy interludes, jazzy breaks, and epic finales that started with ‘Evil Eye’. As with its predecessor, each song is divided into three parts and explores the worlds of Lesser and Greater Magic, as inspired by The Theory and Practice of Satanic Magic, which is part of The Satanic Bible.

Sweden’s Alice Boman today shared “The More I Cry,” the third single from her forthcoming debut album Dream On, out January 17th via [PIAS], produced by Patrik Berger (Robyn, Charli XCX, Carly Rae Jepsen). Boman explains the genesis of this poignant ballad, saying “This is the last song that I wrote for the album and to me it’s a special one. I played it for Patrik one day in the studio and we got inspired and started to play around on his old synths and recorded the whole core of the song that same day. We listened to Elvis Presley’s beautiful recording of ‘Blue Moon.’ Patrik has this old 50’s mic that I fell in love with- that I actually think is meant for drums- that we recorded my vocals on.”

“‘Spiracles’ was finished really quickly because it sounded great from the beginning. As soon as we put in the vocal part, the whole arrangement was already made,” says Marius Bubat of COMA. “We like that the lyrics seem to reflect a certain feeling that people have about our environment, even if I wanted to write down a feeling that reflects human behaviour in general. When we played it to people, some of them even thought the song is about the problem of bee mortality.”
