The San Diego-based duo, ghostbird, known amongst the faithful for their powerful, brooding lyrics and popping rhythms, announces their self-titled EP to be released digitally on June 30. Recorded at San Diego’s own Capricorn Studios, the EP will be available nationally through all the major online music retailers, as well as at selected local outlets.
ghostbird, Trent Hancock (guitar/vocals) and Mike Cooper (drums), chose a style and name that allows their music the freedom to reach out beyond its norm. ghostbird, which literally means owl, have created a sound that transcends the boundaries of indie rock and their first single, “Toy Soldier” gives testament to that fact. Trent’s lyrics and the pace of Mike’s percussion blend for an all-out assault on the “reality” of war.
