TOP DAWG ENTERTAINMENT AND RCA RECORDS JOIN FORCES TO RELEASE SiR’S NEW ALBUM CHASING SUMMER
After the amazing success of SZA’s multi-platinum album Ctrl, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) partners with RCA Records once again for the release of R&B sensation SiR’s new album Chasing Summer. The first single, “Hair Down” featuring TDE labelmate Kendrick Lamar, will be available at all digital music providers on August 8. The release date and more information about Chasing Summer will be announced soon.

JACKNIFE Arrives on New Noise with Breakthrough Banger “Visions”
Encompassing hard-hitting bass stabs and dynamic twists and turns, Aussie producer JACKNIFE jumps right into it on his New Noise breakthrough banger “Visions.”
Born and raised in New South Wales, the Australian producer cut into international fame in 2018, catching the attention of Skrillex, Dj Snake, Zeds Dead, Malaa, K?D, 4B, and Dr. Fresch. Since his past career of being a professional surfer, JACKNIFE, also known as Jack Duggan, has traded his surfboard in for a DJ rig and has since developed a unique blend of dark, underground mid-tempo electro house music. Embodying the persona of a blade, delicate yet diligent, the Australian native is the next producer to keep an eye on as he makes his way to Dim Mak. This November, JACKNIFE is set to perform at Our:House Festival in New Zealand where he’ll showcase his hard-hitting tracklist live for an eager audience.

“For me, songs are like a musical exorcism—they come out screaming and I interpret them later on,” says Nick Phourist, of the Louisville, Kentucky-based quartet Phourist and the Photons. The band’s aptly-titled latest, We’re All Born Screaming, offers forth a viscerally distilled edition of the group’s stately and tuneful indie-rock allowing for maximum cathartic impact.
It’s no surprise Nick is cagey about the meaning of his songs, preferring the listener to have his or her own interpretations. Yet, he does acknowledge that a death in his family last year played a big role in the album’s creation. He also cites existential angst, and day-in-life struggles as artistic fodder.

Jom and his band learned and played every take backwards. When I reversed the backwards footage, it created this disjointed, slightly off-tempo rendition of the song – a quality that reminds me of the fractured recalling of old, distorted memories. The blurriness of a lot of the images and the intentionally out-of-focus foregrounds are nods to the insignificant yet poignant moments you hold onto. A lot of details are fuzzy, others are sharp. Sometimes the things you remember clearest seem to serve no purpose at all. Why can’t I remember that person’s face? I can remember those power lines so well.

The new rapper and main exponent of the Mexican #SabHop movement, Sabino, presented the official video for his latest single “Tú”, a track that explores love and describes feelings towards an idyllic character, confirming the existence of intense and pure love.
The endearing video for “Tú”, follows a couple and their simple acts of love being with one another that from the outside look like every day commonalities but root from a deep sense of comfortability with each other. With “Tú”, the Tapatío (Guadalajara native) rapper and musician continues to demonstrate his quickly increasing capacity as an artist, reaching already over a million views and streams on digital platforms in only three weeks since its release. This new video was directed by previous collaborator Jos, for the production house “El Chiste es Hacer” in his home city of Guadalajara.
