Drawing upon a lifelong passion for music composition and the perspective of a seasoned observer, he is now preparing to release his fifth single — inspired by the famous Doomsday Clock bulletin published by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
The symbolic Doomsday Clock has never stood closer to midnight than its 2026 setting of 85 seconds, reflecting escalating global concerns surrounding climate change, nuclear proliferation, artificial intelligence, and geopolitical instability.
Confronting these existential fears head-on, Stephen Wicks has crafted a powerful rock release that combines urgent lyricism with driving instrumentation and cinematic intensity. His transition from boardrooms to recording studios stands as proof that it is never too late to share an important message with the world.
Working closely with acclaimed British producer George Shilling — known for his work with artists including Blur, Primal Scream, and Steve Winwood — Wicks approached the project with a philosophy that guided him throughout his business career: “If you want the best, surround yourself with the best.”
Lead guitar across the recordings is performed by Stefan Hauk, widely recognised as one of Australia’s most exciting young guitarists.
