Orlando, FL – Rising artist Jordan Seven is set to release his second full-length album, Mercury, later this year, introducing the project with the release of its title track this Friday, May 15. Built around a steadily rising chord progression, “Mercury” was born from the idea of emotional and physical intensity reaching a point where it can no longer be contained. “‘Mercury’ started with a rising chord progression I had in mind that kept building and pushing upward,” says Jordan Seven. “I started thinking about heat and passion, and how neither can be easily contained once they reach a certain point.” That relentless energy became central to the song’s production. Rather than easing tension during the verses or instrumental moments, the arrangement continues to build throughout, allowing the chorus to land as an emotional release instead of a dramatic shift in pace.
“From a production standpoint, I wanted the song to keep that upward momentum all the way through,” he explains. “The verses and the guitar solo don’t really back off. They keep building, so when the chorus hits, it feels like a natural release of everything that’s been driving the song forward.”
Lyrically, “Mercury” explores connection beyond surface-level attraction. The song examines how conflict, vulnerability, and emotional friction can evolve into something lasting and meaningful when confronted honestly rather than avoided.
