When country singer-songwriter Shari Rowe first sat down to write “Too Good To Go,” it wasn’t with the intention of releasing a single—it was to process the scariest news of her life.
While on tour earlier this year, Rowe began struggling with unexplained health issues. After months of uncertainty, doctors told her they saw signs of Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer. That night, overwhelmed with fear yet clinging to faith, she wrote a poem that would eventually transform into “Too Good To Go.”
“‘I love that I’ve got so much to lose’—that line is the heartbeat of the song,” Rowe reflects. “‘Too Good To Go’ came from a place of reflection and gratitude… The way the people in my life showed up for and supported me filled my heart in a way that has changed me forever.”
Fortunately, weeks later, further testing revealed her actual condition to be Eosinophilic Fasciitis, a rare but treatable autoimmune disease. The relief was immense, but the song remained—a reminder of the fragile beauty of life.
