September 19, 2025 – Chicago-born alternative rock artist Blake Red continues her fearless streak with the release of her searing new single “Secrets Are No Fun.” Following the venomous impact of her last single “Scorpion,” Blake strikes again with a hard-hitting track that tackles the destructive power of rumor, betrayal, and weaponized gossip.
Fueled by Blake’s signature blend of blistering guitar riffs, unflinching lyricism, and powerhouse vocals, “Secrets Are No Fun” takes inspiration from the childhood rhyme of the same name but with a razor-sharp edge. The song exposes the chaos that ensues when private truths are twisted and manipulated into uncontrollable narratives.
“Secrets Are No Fun is inspired by the age-old childhood rhyme,” says Blake Red. “The song is from the point of view of someone whose private business isn’t only spread around, but also manipulated into an uncontrollable narrative.”
Produced by Blake Red and mixed/mastered by GRAMMY-winning producer Darryl Swann (Macy Gray, Black Eyed Peas), the single once again showcases Blake’s
uncompromising artistry. Featuring her own performance across guitar, bass, and vocals, “Secrets Are No Fun” is bolstered by explosive drums from Macklin Suhre, capturing the raw energy of Blake’s heaviest material yet.
