Queer Pop Star Samsara Breaks New Ground with UK School Tour and Anthem ‘PUT ‘EM UP!’
Rising artist and trans trailblazer Samsara is set to release her bold new single “PUT ‘EM UP!” on Friday, May 30, marking the next chapter in her emerging, genre-blurring music journey. The release coincides with the launch of her nationwide UK school tour, where she’s not just performing—she’s reshaping the narrative around identity, mental health, and visibility for young queer students across the country.
Following the high-energy track “Strike III”, which drew attention for its striking video and unapologetic lyrics, “PUT ‘EM UP!” delivers a rebellious call to empowerment, resilience, and joy in the face of adversity. With lyrics that cut through conformity and a beat built to move, the single shows Samsara at her most fearless.
“This song is for anyone who’s ever been told to sit down or stay quiet,” says Samsara. “PUT ‘EM UP!’ is about standing your ground and celebrating who you are—loudly.”
But this isn’t just about the music.
At just 21, Samsara is believed to be the first openly trans artist to embark on a UK-wide school tour—bringing original pop music, personal storytelling, and open dialogue into high schools. Her performances fuse entertainment and education, creating inclusive spaces to talk about trans visibility, anti-bullying, mental health, and self-worth. It’s a pioneering initiative blending activism and artistry in a way the UK music scene hasn’t seen before.
“I’m not just here to perform—I’m here to make sure the next generation doesn’t feel invisible,” says Samsara. “I didn’t have someone like me growing up. Now I get to be that person for others.”
Born in Brisbane and raised between Hong Kong, Singapore, and now London, Samsara’s international background fuels her creative identity. She’s been a stage performer, songwriter, fashion stylist, and LGBTQ+ speaker, even working as a stage manager at Heaven nightclub and as part of Vogue Hong Kong’s social media team. But at the heart of it all is a bold and introspective artist determined to speak her truth—whether through lyrics about body image, gender, or psychological complexity.
With new press shots, a steady release schedule (including the raw and haunting “Venomous”), and appearances at UK Pride festivals this summer, 2025 is shaping up to be Samsara’s breakout year.
