Haunting and Thrilling Bass Pop Straight From The River Rhine

BMK is the stage name of Björn Martin Klaus, the son of a German diplomat. He was born in Kenya, raised in the States, Germany and China and studied jazz double bass at the conservatories of Rotterdam, the Netherlands and Mainz Germany.

After releasing his debut album and the follow up EP as a bassist and singer, both mainly consisting of a different approach to jazz stand interpretation, he has now released “Tales of the Upright & the Electric Pulse” on ampwall.com – a double EP album which features partly the double bass and the electric bass. All songs are selfcomposed singer/songwriter tunes or improvisations this time and also feature live violin, a strange electronic creature and samples of instruments, nature and everyday life.

The lyrics range from the topics of heartbreak, mental health, romance, the love for his instrument or just take you away into a different world.

And if you listen closely, you will hear drums beats hit on the body of the double bass next to snapping and clapping that give an organic rhythmic foundation.

Prepare to be thrilled and haunted by the one of a kind bass-pop music on “Tales of the Upright & The Electric Pulse”
