SEB SHARES FIRST TWO SINGLES OF 2023
SEB has shared his first two singles of 2023, “sugarhoneyiceicetea” and “moving on (feat. Khary),” in anticipation of a new forthcoming project. Akin to last Fall’s “loving u is harder,” the new songs demonstrate the solo artist’s deepening skill set as a producer and musician (particularly in an unpredictable swerve into jazz during the bridge of “sugarhoneyiceicetea,” on which he played all the instruments). SEB has been teasing out snippets of the songs on his Tik Tok, amassing almost 1mil views in under two weeks while also marking a shift in the tone of his account. “Recently on social media, I’ve been putting more focus on showing myself as a producer,” states SEB. “For a while, I felt like I was being perceived as an influencer first. That became tough just cause of how much time and care I put into my music. Once the focus of my videos changed, I also felt like people started connecting me to my music more.”

Synth-Pop Artist Geographer Shares Stunning Ballad “One/Other”
He explains, “It’s easy to forget, when examining the brief and bloody history of humanity, that through it all, from the dark ages to the social media era, there has also been the tiny, muffled, sweet voice of love. In our own lives, we feel it every day, whether we’re connected to it or not. But it so rarely leaves the confines of our bodies or our darkened rooms, and almost never finds its way into the all-important, fluorescently lit rooms of power, commerce, and politics. Love, that most human of all qualities, most precious of all resources, is neglected so utterly in our daily lives, pushed aside for goals and, hopes and priorities that are not our own. This song has a chorus that I refuse to believe in: ‘You only get one or the other.’ Yes, sure, that’s how it would seem. But how can that be? I feel trapped in, mollified, and opiated by a system that relegates my love to the status of mere fuel for the mechanisms of power, and yet my love exists all the same. As if the coal in the ground were destined for much more than our furnaces.”

d3adc0de Return With Anthemic New Single “Call Out The Liars”
“When Steve sent me the first draft of the song that became ‘Call Out the Liars,’ it immediately struck me that the chorus was big and needed a strong melody for the vocals,” says vocalist Stephen Sims. “For me, lyric writing typically comes in after I figure out the melody. With all of the negative events happening around the world over the past few years, I took the opportunity to vent out a lot of frustration and wrote the lyrics in a manner where the meaning is completely open to interpretation by the listener.”
