NEW MUSIC: “What We On” Lil Jon feat. E-40

Multi-platinum and Grammy award winning artist, Lil Jon, has done it again for the Bay Area with a new single [and video] for “What We On” featuring E-40, P-Lo, and Daboii. The infectious record is set to be a new Bay Area anthem. At the helm with Lil Jon is past collaborator and Bay Area icon, entrepreneur and rapper E-40, while P-Lo is a multi-platinum certified rapper and producer and one of the preeminent voices in Bay Area music with a knack for regional smashes. Daboii is a former member of northern California supergroup SOB x RBE and a RIAA certified platinum artist. The “What We On” video shows a carefree day in the city – partying with friends and getting hyphy – while luxury cars and bikes encapsulate the Bay Area culture.

“Mr. Police, how are you? You say I sped right past you,” the 30-year-old croons over a jazzy piano melody, adding later, “Hope I don’t go to jail.” The lighthearted musicality paired with grim lyrics, hinting at fear and uncertainty, make for a powerful combination. That tone bleeds into the video, which features reenactments of chillingly familiar interactions between police and people of color.

INEZONA (Feat. Frederyk Rotter) – Midnight Circle // New single & video

«Midnight Circle» is the title of this trip, the first single of the upcoming INEZONA album «Heartbeat» and it’s epic, spheric and timeless, just as we would expect it from the multi-instrumentalist and singer. The song is the result of a collaboration with Zatokrev-singer Frederyk Rotter. It is an ode to life, its finitude and death alike and it fills the depressing void of these days with timeless musical magic. While the voices of Ines Brodbeck and Frederyk Rotter are in perfect tune and harmony on a velvet sound, drone guitars, piercing screams and psychedelic guitar solos form a stark contrast, symbolizing the lightness and severity of being alike.

ASBEST – Cyanide For Breakfast // New video

“You can feel the despair building as the guitars seethe and rake and the drums clobber. The guitars also glitter when the drums vanish, like a moment of gloomy introspection, bringing a daunting realization. And from there the music builds into a harrowing storm — the drums becoming more manic, the guitars beginning to sear in agony, the vocals cracking under the strain — and then collapses in a dismal denouement. The video is a fascinating metaphor for the song’s themes…”
