Songstress Mauve Pokes Fun at Nepo-Babies on “I Wish I Was This Girl”

Her fun bubblegum pop song, “I Wish I Was This Girl,” is an ode to nepo babies. Yes, really. We all watch them on our screens, baffled at how easy they must have it. It’s an “Oh, woe is me” song but in a playful way. Every once in a while, we all come across these feelings of envy, so let’s not take ourselves too seriously or put overwhelming pressure on ourselves.

Dylan Conrique Releases New Single “Pieces”

Speaking about the song, Dylan said “I was scrolling on social media one day when I got really invested in some videos I saw about a breakup, and their breakup story became the inspiration for ‘Pieces.’ It was my first time writing a song based on someone else’s story I’d seen online, but the lyrics came so naturally when I started writing it. Even though social media has its downsides, I think it’s special that we can connect with other people we’ve never met before who share their stories. It can make you feel less alone in your own experiences and can even be a source of inspiration.”

ENDEAVOUR Takes A New Look At Metalcore With “Aimless” Off Debut Album “For The Time Being”

“”Aimless has a huge chorus and breakdown and a lot of energy throughout. The lyrics are inspired by conspiracy theories. As for the albums, the tracks don’t necessarily link to one another by telling one overarching story. There are also songs that go for a more subdued attitude throughout the whole track. ‘Black Box’ for instance, has a kind of calming and uplifting feel to it and then there’s a heavy hitter like ‘Aimless’ that harmonically opens up in the chorus, hinting at that calmer feel without losing energy..”

Mark has shared his vision and meaning behind this new song: “I’ve always been a fan of love songs where the title changes the whole perspective. Most love songs simply say “I love you” or “You love me.” It’s directional. But true love is really a circular thing, where you love the other person and they love you and it doesn’t end. I had been trying to find the right words for this chord progression I’ve been sitting on for years. Chris, my cowriter, just started singing “Love to Be Loved” over it. That simple phrase, and the circle it implies, perfectly reflects the circular nature of the music.”

This record is so personal and stepping into the producer chair for it was both terrifying and empowering, but I knew in order to grow I had to allow myself to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. I’m so excited to finally share it with the world.”

Rose Haze Share Single “Slow Decay” via Bass Player Mag

While Kate Ramsey, frontwoman of Rose Haze, was at home visiting family in the midwest she felt called to work on a new tune while going through waves of nostalgia and deep reflection. She asked guitarist Ruben Gonzales to send her a few riffs, bass line, and drum beat. In her childhood bedroom, she wrote lyrics and synth parts around Gonzales’ parts and arranged a demo, which in its primitive form was much more ethereal and light. When introduced to the rest of the band and taken to the stage, the track naturally morphed into a darker and heavier track falling somewhere between dream pop and doom.
