GENTLEMAN’S DUB CLUB TEAMS UP WITH EVA LAZARUS ON NEW SINGLE “HIGH HOPES”

Gentleman’s Dub Club have teamed up with the inimitable force of nature Eva Lazarus on their new single, “High Hopes,” which comes out today via Easy Star Records. It’s the next cut coming from their upcoming new studio album due out June 9. The song is a heavy-grooving one drop riddim that has all the hallmarks of another classic GDC sing-along anthem. German-American art punk band LAWN CHAIR share new single ‘Punkrock Band’

Ever since their stage debut in late 2021, German-American art punk band LAWN CHAIR have relentlessly rehearsed, recorded and played shows, including appearances at showcase festivals such as Reeperbahn and Waves Vienna. The band, fronted by Seattle-born Claudia Schlutius, has quickly gained recognition in the German indie scene with a guitar-driven energetic sound, Schlutius’ powerful stage presence and meticulous songwriting. Last month, the band released ‘Sunset Heartbreak’, a single that has garnered the group early support from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music and DIY as well as comparisons to bands like Gustaf & Bodega.

This last line of the title track from Cindy’s fourth LP Why Not Now? works as a slogan for Karina Gill’s evolving musical vision. Her music is simple out of necessity and introverted in delivery, but the songs contain vivid worlds and are quietly ambitious. With this latest batch, Gill pulled the process of making Cindy music even more inward. “Some of these songs were first recorded as demos alone in my basement. I think that process set the tone for the record…Maybe it set up a kind of starkness,” she says.
