ESSEA provides a whirlwind of emotion and grace on new EP “Onomatopoeia”

ESSEA is an artist that possesses an impressive array of musical talents. The Norwegian artist brings a variety of genre infusing offerings to his musical works. Returning with a new EP entitled “Onomatopoeia” ESSEA steps things up a level on his latest body of work.

Noticeably the first thing to take note of here is just how well the seven track body of work gels together. Opener “Mhm” is a wise and solid opener. Equipped with a catchy chorus that draws the listener into a world of sonic bliss backed by a rhythmic guitar beat.

Moving onto follow ups “DNB” which arrives as a leading visual single captivating with the artists lyrical flow and quirky trap beat. “Overseas” picks up the intensity being a dark trap hard hitting track”

“Paraply” feels reminiscent of the late and great “Juice WRLD” with it’s flute backed beat, and snapping high hats shadowed by the artists well articulated lyrics. We then arrive at one of the clear standouts of the project “Bla Bla Bla.” This song is a winner on all levels. A confident and groovy Dance Hall inspired banger. This is a song that offers bags of repeat value time after time.

Concluding songs “Aaway” mark the dark and sinister side of ESSEA and his artistry, the atmospheric track starts with a cohesion of layered reverb submerged vocals, followed by a transfixing Hip Hop beat.

We then close out the project with the perfect closer to the EP in “Hennes Synspunkt.”

The track offers some of the artist best lyrics in his growing musical catalogue, with the reflective tone making for a heartfelt and relatable final ending to a superb musical project.
