BRAXE + FALCON RELEASE NEW SINGLE “ELEVATION” FT. SUNNI COLON: DEBUT EP ‘STEP BY STEP’ OUT JUNE 24 VIA SMUGGLERS WAY

Pioneering French House architects Alan Braxe & DJ Falcon return this week with new single “Elevation” feat. Los Angeles singer, songwriter and installation artist Sunni Colón. This is the third single released from their highly anticipated debut Step By Step EP out digitally June 24th via Domino’s new dance/electronic-focused imprint Smugglers Way with the vinyl release coming on August 26th. “Elevation” exudes a kaleidoscopic vibrancy as Braxe & Falcon’s paradigmatic production paints a beautiful canvas for Sunni’s vocals. A funky bassline contrasts pleasantly against a slew of other-worldly synths, the final product being a refreshing addition to the legacy of French House. When reflecting back on working with the two French legends, Colón notes, “‘Elevation’ stemmed from the many sessions I had with Alan and Falcon in Biarritz. We made so much music together and I am very happy that ‘Elevation’ can now be heard. They opened a new door of production to me that I found to be emancipatory. These are my brothers. They really love music and have a full understanding of what it means to be true vessels of legacy.”

Ray Laurél Reveals New Single ‘ Manic Pixie Dream Boy’// WATCH HERE

‘I was talking to this guy on Hinge for ages; he listened to stuff like Merzbow, had a whacky fashion sense, and was pretty intense. It got really deep and out of the blue he just unmatched me. I was kinda taken aback, I scrolled through Instagram and saw this article and was like, yep. He was a Manic Pixie Dream Boy. Someone free-spirited and refreshing, but yet remains unavailable. This song also comes as a reflection as to how I’ve definitely played the role of an MPDB myself. It’s like a realization that sometimes my intense, somewhat overly-romantic nature can be toxic as hell.’

“It’s been a real struggle for me, both physically and mentally, to overcome this Pneumothorax. My chest muscles and ribs still hurt to this day, but seeing all of these feelings turned into an emotionally loaded song and the reception it’s been getting really brightens my spirit! Especially with how people are liking my singing, which was my greatest worry when I was laying in bed with a chest tube. ‘Will I ever sing this song again?’, a quote from the song, is a true statement from my own self-doubting mind.”
