Madonna feature highlights Fireboy’s rising stock

A new music star has emerged from Africa and he is literally on fire. Nigerian Fireboy DML is taking over the Afrobeat world, so well that the iconic Madonna couldn’t resist.

The 63-year-old tapped on the Nigerian and Sickick to remake her 1998 classic ‘Frozen’.  Fireboy who was born two years before the song, which has been played in many casino online sites, was released again proved his quality.

As it stands, the track counts as the first official release from Madonna’s planned re-release of her entire back catalogue since re-signing with original label Warner last year.

The song morphs from Madonna’s ice-cold, electronica-influenced vocals, shifting into something of trap beat for Fireboy’s verse. It’s an interesting exchange for all three artists; the cultural cachet Fireboy and Sickick will recieve from collaborating with Madonna is undeniable, while the Queen of Pop once again proves she’s willing to rip up the rulebook of her own hitmaking legacy to keep one foot in the mainstream.

A Number 1 hit in 1998, the original Frozen is perhaps best known for its cinematic music video, where a gothic Madonna is in the desert, before transforming into a flock of blackbirds and a hound. It was written by Madonna and frequent collaborator Patrick Leonard and co-produced by William Orbit, who helped influence the electronica style of Frozen’s parent album, Ray Of Light.

One of the most influential and successful pop artists of all time, Madonna this year celebrates 40 years since the release of her landmark debut album – not only will she release deluxe editions of all her previous records, she is also co-writing and directing the biopic of her life, with auditions currently underway for the lead role.

For Fireboy, it’s another milestone.  After a successful 2021 with his record “Peru” garnering over 30 million streams, the singer-songwriter kept the momentum going by having shows throughout the US.

Fireboy DML released his first project Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps back in 2019. Two years later he dropped the single “Peru” leading his music to be recognized worldwide. In addition to “Peru ” becoming a viral song on TikTok, the international hit record helped him secure a remix with Ed Sheeran and another version of the song featuring 21 Savage and Blxst.

“Peru”  highlights Fireboy’s ability to make a Afrobeats love song, while other tracks like “Need You” and “Vibration” showcase his range in creating some songs centered on slow soothing chords and others that are up-tempo club anthems. Despite his solo success, the singer-songwriter expressed in a recent Hot 97 interview that his music ultimately contributes to a “selfless cause to push the sound of [African] culture to the world. ” All and all, we anticipate that there is more to come from Fireboy DML and we are excited to hear it. The month of March promises more fruits for the 26-year-old. While his third studio album will be released this summer, Fireboy said he has a new track in the pipeline.

Record executive, Olamide said, ” I’ve had fireboy 3rd album with me since October 2021 and I’m tired of listening to it alone.. if you have his number, kindly call him n let him know I’m gonna leak it if he no pick next single n let’s drop album”.

Fireboy responded with a date,

“Next single next month! third album before summer!”.
