LeXmo Questions Her Sexuality In Self-Directed Video For ‘GHST’

The self-directed black and white video sees LexMo on DP and editing duties as well as dancing through the intoxicating scenes with different dancers, in her own words “perfectly encapsulating the toxic dark romance that is littered through the song”. Depicting someone stuck between two people, and who ends up losing everything after trying to make what seemed like an impossible choice, “the push and pull that came in waves ultimately left me feeling trapped and alone and questioning everything I thought I once knew about my sexuality. I’m simply not as straight as I thought I was and that was pretty scary for me to discover. In the end I lost both people and lost myself as well. I’d never felt so trapped, confused and alone trying to figure out what I wanted. The black and white, the strobe effects, the back and forth between each person represents the confusion and instability I was feeling at the time,” LexMo enthuses.

Hugs of the Sky Shares New Psych-Rock Single “Nirwana Surf” via SPILL, Named Northern Transmissions’ Song of the Day

On the song, bandmate Boris Willems shares: “Nirwana Surf is a critique of contemporary politics, a bit of an ironic version of the question of why anger and hatred are everywhere. The title is an ode to the grunge band, but at the same time there’s the literal meaning of a nihilist ‘flee’ away from the worries mentioned above. Perhaps through music or psychedelia. Finally there’s the layer that the chords are musically kinda surfy and of a simplicity like Nirvana.”
