Tenderhost share debut single ‘The Descent’ + announce free entry headline show at the Sebright Arms, London
Formed in 2021 by songwriter/composer Gabriel Levy, he guides his new ensemble – made up of: Tara Cunningham (guitar), Jonny Wickham (bass), Nat Philipps (saxophone), Nathan Ridley (drums), and Alex Parry (keys) – through a highly authored exploration in tension, confession and chronic unease. As composer and band leader, he drifts freely between the sonorous and the eerie, his songs delighting in their narrative unpredictability.
Electronic duo Hermitude return home with ‘Mirror Mountain’
Simplicity was a significant factor in this record. Making it back to Australia before the borders closed, Hermitude – the duo of Luke Dubber (Dubs) and Angus Stuart (“El Gusto”) – quietly slipped up to the Blue Mountains with a pared- back music setup: a Moog Matriarch, one other synth, and a laptop. “We tried not to over-clutter the music,” says Angus. “Recording [‘Pollyanarchy’] was a fun experience, but it was also tiring. We wanted to strip everything back and return to the essence of why we started Hermitude in the first place, which was just us two locked in a studio in the mountains having a bit of fun and seeing what came out,” Luke says.

DIVORCE share compelling debut single ‘Services’ | out today (Feb 1st) via HAND IN HIVE
‘Services’ is a compelling introduction to their alt-country and grunge-fuelled mission – teetering between the playful, the indulgent, and the volatile. A grimy bassline leads a lackadaisical groove, the basis for Tiger Cohen-Towell’s by turns airy, imperious and exasperated vocals. This is all the while disrupted by distorted guitar exclamations – the clash of loud and quiet exposing the duality between the two genre inspirations.
Calexico Announce New Album ‘El Mirador’, Watch Animated Video For Title Track Now
Convening at longtime bandmate Sergio Mendoza’s home studio in Tucson, Arizona, the ensemble recorded throughout the summer of 2021, crafting one of their most riveting and whimsical productions to date. Convertino, who now resides in El Paso, and Burns, who relocated to Boise in 2020, channeled cherished memories of Southwestern landscapes and joyful barrio melting pots into an evocative love letter to the desert borderlands that nourished them for over 20 years.
“Last year I had a chance to revisit these songs and I realized they had something my records didn’t have,” says Leif. “They resonate with that incalculable energy of a live audience. It didn’t matter whether they were listening to FM radio on the freeway, watching a CBS broadcast of The Late Late Show at home, or standing right there in front me at the Troubadour in LA. The audience completes the music. They inform it and they shape it. They’re on the other end of the frequency and they make new waves of their own. That symbiosis is something during these past two years I’ve missed more than anything. And I feel it on this record.”

Little Hurt Releases New Track And Video For “Get Out Of My Life”
“Get Out Of My Life” is about that feeling of wanting to laugh while you break everything in your house. This is the first song I’ve released in a year, and as I’m sure is true for everyone, a lot has happened in that time. This one in particular is about losing who I was certain was the love of my life. It’s very personal to me, so naturally I’m gonna scream about it. I also just really wanted to make a rock song my fans could jump up and down to,” states Colin Dieden about the track.

Following their latest magnum opus, Oscillation(2019), and due to pandemic lockdowns, the band channeled all of their time and creativity into delivering an epic successor. It’s that mixture of emotions – from infinite sadness to moments of clarity and heart-rending melodies blending into a rumbling volcano of aesthetic noise and ferocious power, but also the unique use of trumpets, cello and trombones throughout – that sees OH HIROSHIMA outclass and grow renowned not only in post-rock circles, but beyond.
Dana Gavanski shares “Indigo Highway” via The FADER + announces new album (ffo Aldous Harding, Cate Le Bon)
There’s something mesmerizing about the fingertips of Dana Gavanski. Conducting each note with a light gracefulness, they appear to dance whilst aiding their owner in expressing the stories behind each of her lighter-than-air tones. Stories which, on her new album When It Comes – out April 29 via Flemish Eye (and Full Time Hobby outside of North America) – may never have been heard if not for healing ‘lost’ vocal cords and a lesson in taking the rough with the smooth.

The Greyboy Allstars Announce ‘Get A Job’ Album & Tour Dates
“We keep a running master list of around 70 tunes. From those I picked a mixture of tried-and-true live staples and songs that weren’t always in common rotation,” says band keyboardist Robert Walter of the Get a Job set. “Usually, for gigs I propose a list and then the other members edit and tweak it. For the taping, we wanted each episode to have a theme: two of them focused on originals and the other two were covers: live favorites, and music that came out on Prestige Records. The tunes on this release are the best of the covers.”
