Buster Baer Releases Indie-Pop EP “Mock Twang”
Written, recorded, and produced entirely by Buster Baer during the lockdown, Mock Twang features previously released hit singles “Sleepy Baby” and “Get Deeper;” as well as unreleased tracks “Gone Fishin” and “In His Image.” The song “Gone Fishin” was written and partially recorded by Buster Baer in a canoe on a lake in Temecula, CA. The retro, vibey tune features crashing drums with a sweet, acoustic guitar melody and Baer’s unique vocal style. “This EP was all about a relationship that began and ended during quarantine,” explains Baer. “It captures the whole journey from ‘Gone Fishin’s’ seeking hunger for something, to ‘Sleepy Baby’s’ romantic and supportive hope, to ‘Get Deeper’s’ collapse and optimistic desperation, and finally to ‘In His Image’ as I returned to myself and dug back into my own personal path.” Mock Twang shows the entire cycle of Baer’s relationship, from the romantic and gentle ode to love in “Sleepy Baby” to the upbeat and optimistic twist on a sad breakup song with “Get Deeper.” “It’s an illustration of the philosophical perspective on romance and the monotony of the endless cycles of dating, losing ourselves in love, breaking up, and finding ourselves again.”

Retro Indie-pop Artist Buster Baer Releases “Mock Twang” Inspired By Lockdown Relationship
Retro-indie pop artist Buster Baer has just released his latest EP, Mock Twang. Kevin Devine announces tenth album due March 25 and shares first single “Albatross” today
Devine’s career began in the early 2000’s with the band Miracle Of 86. From there he struck out on his own, performing solo and with his ever-evolving backing collective, The Goddamn Band, eventually forming Bad Books with Manchester Orchestra. In 2015, Devine started his Devinyl Splits 7″ series with Craig Finn, Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), David Bazan, The Front Bottoms, Meredith Graves (Perfect Pussy) and many more. In addition to playing as a solo artist, Devine has served as a touring member of several bands, and performed extensively and internationally with a range of other artists such as Frightened Rabbit, John K Samson and Julien Baker, amassing a loyal, fervent following along the way.
Many bands around the world have had difficulty gathering for a simple jam together, and when they do, it’s an epic reunion. Particle Kid aka Micah Nelson releases new single and video “Someone Else’s Dream”
The album will be available digitally and on CD along with a limited run of 20 actual time capsules, hand-crafted from hempcrete (a fire-resistant, highly insulative building material made from hemp stalks) by Micah. Inside each one will be a thumb drive including the record, videos, printed album artwork, industrial hemp seeds that he cultivated himself, and a physical ticket to a Particle Kid concert in 20 years. Then people can fill the time capsule with their own mementos and reconnect with it decades from now. “It feels like we are experiencing a major plot point in history for better or worse, and the idea of collaging all this music into a literal time capsule was interesting,” he says. “It’s like an interactive art piece.”
