Jay Productions And Mars Return With “5 to 9” From New EP BIPOLAR

British rapper/songwriter Mars and producer/singer/songwriter Jay Productions have already had plenty of early success so far – their previous collaboration “Made It” was supported across UK radio and also featured on US rapper The Game’s mixtape End Games Vol. 3. Having been heavily supported by the likes of BBC Asian Network and BBC Radio 1, Jay Productions is quickly making a name for himself in the UK and international music scene. Another collaborative effort with Mars in 2021 (“We Ain’t The Same”) alongside Sukhraj and Ello S has already racked up hundreds of thousands of streams.

“It’s not a fun record… but, at times, it’s a funny one,” admits Carré Kwong Callaway a.k.a. QUEEN KWONG about the new album she is putting the final touches on which is slated for release in Spring 2022. Signed to Los Angeles-based indie record label Sonic Ritual (home to Gypsum, Joe Cardamone, and Ultimate Fakebook), Carré has assembled a notable cadre of contributing musician friends including The Cure’s Roger O’Donnell (keyboards), Swans’ Kristof Hahn (lap steel) and Blood Red Shoes’ Laura-Mary Carter (backing vocals) who appear on assorted tracks on the upcoming LP. Producing the record is The Icarus Line’s Joe Cardamone with Tchad Blake (Arctic Monkeys, Elvis Costello, Fiona Apple) mixing it.

Video: Born I – In This Moment

Born I’s “In This Moment” takes us on a visual journey, exploring Born’s struggles with mental health as he strives to achieve personal freedom and enlightenment. The video was filmed at Kunzag Palyul Buddhist Temple and features cameos from Born’s wife Ayanna and their son. About the song and video, Born says “‘In This Moment’ is a very important song for me, it was written at probably my lowest point in life and it was then that I realized that self love, family, meditation and support were what I needed to be the person I truly want to be in the world.” Born is currently filming a video for each song on his album of the same name, “In This Moment”, to be released as a visual album in 2022.

Born out of the challenges brought on by a worldwide pandemic, birthed under hellish red-orange skies bred from rampaging west coast wildfires, and built amidst the yearlong political riots and rallies in Portland, OR, Pike’s solo debut, ‘Pike vs. the Automaton’, is both a musical and emotional release. The record was written by Pike with drummer Jon Reid, features contributions from a slew of family and friends, and was recorded with longtime conspirator Billy Anderson, the producer who brought the best out of Pike previously on touchstone titles such as ‘Surrounded by Thieves’ and ‘Sleep’s Holy Mountain’.
