The track is quickly proving a hit and has been immediately added to the playlist of NRK P3 (the Norwegian equivalent to BBC 6Music) and the video premiered today with Clash who called the track, “a taut, wiry guitar burner, with its innate pop instincts pushed to the limit. ‘Skiptracing’ puts Clash in mind of Yuck or even Dinosaur Jr. while still pursuing its own path – there’s promise here, and originality, too.”

At the end of September, Sam Johnson released his solo debut cementing himself as one of Boston’s most promising singer-songwriters. While most will recognize Sam from his time fronting the post-hardcore outfit Choke Up, his new album, Along the Dark Edges of Everything, is set against an indie-Americana backdrop that is full of vivid storytelling. Sam teamed up with director Bill Fulkerson to create a music video for his single “Bad World” and it’s currently streaming at New Noise Magazine. Julian Lamadrid Releases New Album ‘Rebels of the Neon God’

Today, Mexican singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Julian Lamadrid releases his sophomore album, Rebels of The Neon God, on Arista Records.

Rebels of The Neon God serves as the follow up to Julian’s 2019 debut, Mala Noche. Featuring past singles like “Teenager,” “One More Trip,” “Cigarette,” “Patience” and “The Neon God,” the 12-track record is a masterfully executed record unbound by genre or expectations. “The album is centered around the dichotomy between frustration and dance, vacancy and ecstasy; enlightenment through pain,” says Julian. “I have glimpsed into the eyes of The Neon God, pierced through the void and come out the other end, desperate for connection, hungry for the eternal.”

NNAMDÏ RELEASES ‘ARE YOU HAPPY’ EP

Chicago instrumentalist/artist NNAMDÏ has released his Are You Happy EP via Sooper Records. Notably, it is the only NNAMDÏ project to date that he has not self-produced. The EP is produced by Chicago electronic artist Lynyn, the newly minted moniker of longtime fellow Monobody band-member and friend Conor Mackey. Mackey is a working composer and sound designer that has scored for institutions including the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a lifelong student of experimental electronic music. NNAMDÏ’s melodic R&B and rap-inspired cadences meet Lynyn’s highly designed experimental electronic and dance compositions for something cool and transient: something like IDM-R&B. The project is 5 tracks and features the previously released “Glass Casket (Remix)”—a Lynyn initiated remix of a track from NNAMDÏ’s BRAT, which was the beginning overture of this truly unique collaboration between Artist-Friends.

OMAH LAY SHARES EMOTIONAL SINGLE “UNDERSTAND”

If the comfort of a late-night dance could be a song, it’d sound like “Free My Mind.” Omah Lay sings in a buttery, conversational style, joined by a glowing saxophone that punctuates each verse. “Free my mind, free my mind with shayo,” he belts, using the Nigerian slang for alcohol. His verses flip between languages but feel born from the same effortless substance. All the components make for an intoxicating listen, the kind of song you might throw on at the club or get lost inside on a long lonely night.

Initially released to coincide with Valentine’s Day, “dating myself” is an up-tempo track that embraces the art of self-care, exploring the empowerment behind falling in love with yourself, while the playful “ibtc (remix)” sees her team up with St. Louis-born rapper MILES on a rework of her viral TikTok hit that saw millions of plays earlier this year.

NYC’s Kyle Morgan announces debut LP on Team Love, shares first single “Do You Still Have Some Fight In You”

Queens-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kyle Morgan grew up in central Pennsylvania, where he spent countless Sunday mornings amidst the broken strains and coffee breath of his church congregation. His first record, Starcrossed Losers, became the alias under which he would go on to release two more, Bind Us Anew and Strange Hesitations, each featuring his distinctive conglomeration of Americana styles, from stripped-down acoustic ballads and love-lorn parlor laments to roaring alt-country and throwback 60’s rock’n’roll.

LUKE COMBS CONFIRMS 2022 STADIUM TOUR

Country superstar and newly minted CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs will embark on his first-ever headline stadium tour next year with performances at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High on May 21, Seattle’s Lumen Field on June 4 and Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 30. Special guests featured on the tour include Cody Johnson, Zach Bryan and Morgan Wade.

Brooklyn indie-punk outfit Pass Away released the third and final single from their upcoming album Thirty Nine. “Moss Bar” was written in the thick of the pandemic while guitarist and vocalist Mike Ireland was living in New Orleans. With St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 directly in their backyard, Mike and his wife dubbed the front porch of their 200-year-old Creole cottage “Moss Bar” and spent a lot of nights drinking there. Pass Away includes members of I am the Avalanche and Crime In Stereo and will released their sophomore album, Thirty Nine, on Friday, November 26th.
