Prog Duo Mark Murdock and Dmitry M. Epstein Release New Concept Album “Oblivion Bound” Feat. Ron Howden of Nektar & Fernando Perdomo
The eve of Halloween 2021 sees the release of “Oblivion Bound”: a concept album, devised by Dmitry M. Epstein on Mark Murdock’s request, a record which tells a story of a rock star who dies and is given a second chance to live – provided he can change and get cleansed through his love, his only constant on this mortal coil – but what if he returns and no one remembers his name? It’s a story of Orpheus and Eurydice turned inside out and upside down, with a possible happy end – recounted over the background blending hard-rock vigor and prog sophistication and set to a string of highly memorable melodies.

News – Down Again drop music video for “The Fire” with Counterparts singer as guest
Down Again vocalist/guitarist Lenny Costa speaks further on the effort. “The music video for “The Fire” is probably the best we have ever done. We worked with director Tyler Dugoni and motion graphics expert Rzarekt to put it together and couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out. It was the first time we have worked with any type of 3-D effects on a video and it brought such an awesome element to the visuals. It has such a different feeling from any of our past videos and we think it really does a good job of elevating the music.”
The new single was co-written by Vibe City songwriter Jesse Slack (Jade Eagleson, Ryan Ottolini). The single was produced by David Morris and mixed and mastered by Austin Shawn.
Today, Ryan Sawyer, Greg Coates, Wilder Soby, Andres Renteria, and John Dwyer share their debut single as a group, “Gong Splat,” premiered via Brooklyn Vegan.
Their debut LP, Gong Splat, is due December 17th via Castle Face Records.
