Toronto Alt Rockers THE HIGH LOVES Put a Breakup Behind Them With “Sometime” Single
Sometimes just knowing an experience is in your rearview is enough to roll down the windows, turn up the tunes, and cruise along with zero cares… And with its laid-back tempo and smooth vocal harmonies, Canadian rock five-piece The High Loves and their new single “Sometime” — available now –— captures that very freedom of knowing a relationship is over and, hey, you did all you could.
There are big changes in our lives that we can’t always control. New single “heaven help me” wrestles with how powerless we all are sometimes, running the gamut of emotions from confusion to sadness as one comes to grips with the situation. Learning to ask for help is a core theme in 117, Ezra’s EP due for release on October 6.
John Carpenter and his musical foils Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies have just shared “Rampage,” the second taste of their original score for the fiercely anticipated motion picture Halloween Kills. “Rampage” speaks to the creative synergy the trio have amassed over the past six years of creative collaboration, updating Halloween’s familiar breath-stealing sense of menace and sinister synth tones with a broader sonic palette and an even deeper sense of musicality. The trio previously shared “Unkillable,” one of the most unsettling cues in all of Carpenter’s oeuvre. As a pair the songs make clear the breadth of ominosity on the score; both staying true to the spirit of what made the original 1978 film great while also bringing it firmly into the present.
