Heavy Halo Debut Their New Music Video “Black Seed”

Brooklyn, NY Industrial/Rock artists Heavy Halo release their new music video “Black Seed”. Their self-titled debut album to be released this year on Negative Gain.

“‘Black Seed’ is about the despair and nihilism that grows in us all with repeated exposure to failure. This darkness spreads then radiates outward, corrupting everything we touch. “Black Seed” echoes back to 90’s grunge and industrial, reminiscent of artists such as Stabbing Westward, Nine Inch Nails, and Filter and still rings true today.

FORE release video for punk version of “Man In The Box” – Premiere Via Metal Injection

Formed in 2020, FORE stomped into the seemingly-silent punk scene with their debut album “Hombres”. Consisting of current and former members of KREATOR, VENOM INC, INHUMAN CONDITION, THE ABSENCE, and OLD JAMES, the quartet proved that punk rock is very much not dead. In June, we saw the release of the band’s new single, “Repeated Subtraction”, tackling political and social issues with the lyrics and accompanying music video. Today, we see the band’s lighter side take over with a fun-loving cover of the ALICE IN CHAINS classic, “Man In The Box”, with a video of…well, Men In Boxes!

Liz Lawrence unveils Lynchian music video for ‘Drive’

After premiering on Arlo Parks’ BBC Radio 1 Future Sound show last week, Liz Lawrence today shares arresting and Lynchian visuals for her latest single ‘Drive’ taken from her upcoming third studio album ‘The Avalanche’, due digitally on September 17th 2021. This album will be supported by an extensive run of UK headline shows later this year.

Lily Konigsberg (of Palberta) Shares New Single

Though the album is a characteristically eclectic collection of pop songs, recalling in moments the guitar-driven, punk-adjacent feel of her work with Palberta, to things like mid-Aughts Sheryl Crow, and even Cure-inflected post-punk, its buoyant energy is nicely captured by this single. Backed on drums by her Palberta bandmate Nina Ryser with backing vocals from Amos, the track is a burst of perfectly-formed guitar pop with a slight pop punk lean that displays the imaginative and slightly warped melodic turns that Kongisberg has mastered. It holds a deceptive complexity and yet feels as natural as breathing, and its ease only serves to highlight Konigsberg’s considerable gifts as a songwriter.

DEBUTS NEW SINGLE “MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE”

Livingston elaborated on the single, adding, “There are times when I waste so much potential thinking about what could have been – what I could have changed, what I would have said differently. I wanted to write a song about what it would feel like to let that go – to say one statement of closure and make peace with the change.”

Listen To Matthew Fowler’s “Going Nowhere” Before New Album Drops On September 10th

“It was the first time in my life I had to try and explain what God meant to me and what spiritually moved me,” says Florida-born and raised singer and songwriter Matthew Fowler about the impetus of his new song “Going Nowhere”—the third single from his upcoming album The Grief We Gave Our Mother, out September 10th via Signature Sounds. “I wrote this song about a girl who lived across the street from me. We had known each other for a long time and dated for a brief period, but ultimately broke it off over differences in faith,” Fowler Recalls.

LESOTHO: Cvlt Nation Premieres In-Studio Performance By Boston Post-Rock/Metal Trio; Debut EP, Summer Wars, To See Release This Friday

LESOTHO was formed early in the 2020 quarantine, uniting guitarist Kyle Loffredo, drummer Zach Ganshirt, and bassist Cliff Cazeau. Formed during a time when many would feel isolated and separated, the members found connection and community through a mutual love for heavy and emphatic instrumental music. Not to be defined by the fallible nature of mankind and its words, LESOTHO follows the cardinal rule of metal – that there are no rules. For them, writing a massive song fueled by the raw emotion of the instruments, without a traditional verse/chorus trade-off feels natural, and their structure flows however it pleases. In the world of LESOTHO, artists as varied as Caspian, Isis, Cave In, and Black Sheep Wall swirl inside their heads, and seep into their musical ether.

Lily Konigsberg (of Palberta) announces debut LP/Shares “That’s The Way I Like It”

PLANNINGTOROCK Releases “Gay Dreams Do Come True” Video Today

Acclaimed artist, singer-songwriter, producer, composer, director, and DJ Planningtorock – aka Jam Rahouja Rostron – is releasing the video to their latest release “Gay Dreams Do Come True.” The euphoric Pride anthem’s video was created as a collaboration with Butt Studios (Tame Impala, Doja Cat) and Greedy Goods (Lava La Rue). The visual is an immersive, tripped out utopian fantasy 3D world that perfectly complements the track. It’s a little Technotronic, a little Deee-lite, and ultimately an ode to romance and queer celebration, bringing the conversation around gender fluidity into the animation space.

Alice Longyu Gao’s badass “Kanpai” is a love letter to Asian culture

Of the single, Gao shares, “My best friend Madison Emiko Love and I wrote this song three years ago. Her grandma is a Japanese immigrant and we always want to champion & plug our culture everywhere we go. We’ve been waiting to put this song out, cuz back then no one with power in western music realized the power of Asian pop culture, no one really cared to put Asian talents on the table. The material world was asleep cuz they didn’t see the money-benefits. ‘Kanpai’ means cheers in Chinese, Japanese and Korean; the joyful vibe translates perfectly throughout the song. The braggy-docious, rap-y bridge part in the song is what I wish for, it’s not my reality yet. Last year was dark for me, and for everyone. But now it is time to regroup and restart, this song wakes me up in the morning, it reminds me that I came to this earth with a mission. I aspire to inspire and benefit other people’s lives. I do that through my art.”

The Muslims Announce New Album + Share Track/Video “Unity”

Taking inspiration from classic punk and afropunk roots, they have successfully synthesized the “fuck you” energy of the oppressed into an ass-kicking, head-smashing, fascist-punching sonic experience. Fuck These Fuckin Fascists, is the ultimate sing-along anthem against all forms of oppression. It’s the perfect balance of humor, tenderness and political rage, wrapped in affirmations for oppressed peoples. Musically, The Muslims continue to bring dynamic melodies to the foundation of classic punk riffs, sprinkled with out-of-this-world rhythmic outbursts. Lyrically, the band unapologetically uses music as a vessel to call out racism, the American political landscape, and white supremacy.
