British singer-songwriter Aluna returns today with the video for her fiery new summer anthem, ‘Summer of Love’, (out now via Higher Ground) which earned praise from V Magazine who hailed it as “a certifiable club hit,” while Dancing Astronaut called it “catchy to its core,” leading Billboard Magazine to name Aluna “one of the most reliable voices in dance.”
The video, directed by Cartel Juncal, was made using actual footage taken from Aluna’s recent DJ sets at Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles and Elsewhere Rooftop in Brooklyn.
Speaking about the special meaning behind her new video, Aluna reveals, “The first time playing in front of a live crowd again takes me back to when I first started DJing — but this time it was different — now I see a future where diversity in dance music is the norm and this is just the beginning. I could feel the openness of the people dancing, the hunger for my BIPOC-focused dance set from around the world, and it makes me so grateful to be alive to see it. At my shows it’s a chance to re-define and reignite the culture of freedom and unity — that euphoria of something meaningful but completely joyful.”
