New Release from DJ Snake ft. Rick Ross, Rich Brian “Run It” On Marvel Music / Interscope Records
Today, multi-platinum producer DJ Snake unveils his latest release with new track “Run It” featuring Rick Ross and Rich Brian. The record, which follows recent boundary-pushing tracks “You Are My High” and “Ring The Alarm” with Malaa, is from the forthcoming Marvel Studios’ film “Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings”. The record will also serve as the anthem for ESPN’s coverage of this year’s College Football season, which kicks off on August 28th.

“Down South” looks back to some of Southern rap’s most memorable hits, repurposing a sample of Mike Jones’ “Still Tippin’” while interpolating UGK’s Master P and Fiend-assisted “Slangin.” Wale uses this canvas to dispel glamorous images of street life as he spits about the downsides of life as a trapper: “In the ’90s, a traffic stop get you tickets, a joke/Now they find you at traffic stops you get riddled with holes.” Beezy and Maxo take a street-level approach to, the former evoking pure menace and the latter oscillating between aggression and reflection. Maxo concludes his verse with a chilling observation: “Ever since my bro got killed, I can’t trust shit, I can’t trust nothing/Can’t even trust my Crips, because a Crip killed Nipsey Hussle.”

With her versatility, Veronica Fusaro has already convinced Dire Straits legend Mark Knopfler, amongst others, with whom she performed together in the amphitheater in Nîmes. Among the 350 concerts she has already played, including Glastonbury and Eurosonic, she has also supported the likes of Ibeyi and Eagle-Eye Cherry.
But live shows became a rare thing during the pandemic – which is why the acoustic re-release of “Beach” has a special meaning for Fusaro. “Because of Corona, there were basically no band shows. ‘I have been performing alone with my guitar and my loop station for years but since then the instrument has grown even closer to my heart. People responded so intensely to the live version of Beach that I really wanted to re-record the song!”
