Cakvero – ‘Black Rain’ – @Skopemag

“Hey! I’m Calvero (my real name is Gabe Liebowitz) and I make pop music! I’m a songwriter (I’ve also co-written nine songs with pop duo Terror Jr including four of their singles), a singer, and a producer. I’ve also been known to get into heated arguments on Tik Tok with people over whether or not Pink Floyd is prog (I don’t think they are…)

My earlier singles were pretty indebted to ‘80s pop & arena rock, Springsteen, Meat Loaf, a lil’ Celine Dion, among others. I had a song with guest vocals from Chicago group Ohmme, too!”

V Magazine said, “In stunning new visuals co-directed by Fletcher and Ava Rikki, the rising artist enters a new era…Your next summer anthem has arrived… FLETCHER isn’t just a pop star but an artist and this music video is her testimony…A simplistic trap beat backgrounds (her) airy light vocals as she declares herself on the journey of self love and recovery, unlearning false self perceptions and entering the next phase of a glow-up journey.”

The Glorious Sons share new single “Hold Steady,” touring this winter

“The chorus is one of the oldest things I had kicking around in my head,” says vocalist Brett Emmons. “We actually tried to find a home for it on The Union, but it wasn’t until a few months back, when I finished writing that bluesy, acoustic riff that you hear at the top of the song, that the melody and chorus just kind of popped back into my head and found its forever home.”

New Music – Elektric Voodoo Releases New Single + Video “Children Are the Revolution”

For Scott Tournet, “‘Children Are The Revolution’ was initially inspired by how the children from Stoneman Douglas High School responded by taking political action after the ‘Parkland school shooting’. It was further inspired by Greta Thunberg and others who are doing incredible things for the future. Beyond that, it’s the concluding thought from the main character of the album. After all the internal searching and spiritual questions, he/she comes to the conclusion that “love shines through it all”

“I’ve been keeping touch with my younger self the past few months and he’s hyped. This is what we wanted way back when I started making music, so it’s surreal to say I’m a signed artist. I’m ecstatic to work with a label like Loud Robot/RCA that can keep stride with my hyperactive energy — I’m glad we’re doing it together :)”

The five-song EP was written, recorded, and produced entirely by Day from her LA home during the pandemic. Since the idea of working with a producer via Zoom felt too impersonal, Day decided she would produce the EP herself. She transformed the rotting shed in her backyard into a tiny music studio and got to work studying and creating. She turned to her social media followers for help naming the studio, and an unexpected fan, Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba, recommended she call it The Greenhouse, because, well, every inch on the inside is painted green.
