Her boyfriend’s mistakes became lyrics to an anthem
One of the scariest things about love is that both people are constantly wondering if the other person loves them as much as they do. Or even worse…that the other person doesn’t care about them at all. And few videos have displayed this concept as perfectly as iamchelseaiam’s “Won’t” video.
Directed by Lost Footage, this new visual accompanies the 2019 single “Won’t”. With bright dream-like production, iamchelseaiam sings the woes of a woman who is tired of being unappreciated. The repeating phrase “You’re really going to make some girl happy one day but it won’t be me” is honest, vulnerable, and exactly a feeling that many can relate to.
Mermaid Avenue release new music video to support their latest single, ‘California’
Australian indie/alt-country rock band Mermaid Avenue have released a music video to support the latest offering from their upcoming album ‘Sugartown’. With a decidedly West Coast feel, the new single sails close to the shores of yacht rock and sings a lovelorn lullaby to the state of sun, sand, movies and moguls.
The video for ‘California’ also pays homage to the romantic elements of the Golden State and brings up the iconic imagery that ignited our imaginations in the California of stage and screen. Bathed in the romantic golden tones of a bygone era, the visual matches the wistful nature of the song perfectly.
“This record is a reflection of my final days as an alcoholic and drug addict. It is the most honest collection of music I have ever created, and being able to celebrate that as a sober human being is a tremendous honor. I had a lot to get off my chest, and with this record I feel like I’ve been able to release those feelings and demons that were weighing so heavily on me. Now that Spritual is out in the world, I have a great sense of closure and peace around that chapter of my life. Aside from my children, this record is my proudest accomplishment to date. So as you listen, understand that this record was made with the intention to let go of certain things, so that I could grow. This record is for me.”

RISING ALTERNATIVE STAR JESSIE MURPH RELEASES DEEPLY PERSONAL NEW SINGLE “WHEN I’M NOT AROUND”
In speaking about the song and accompanying visual, Jessie says: “‘When I’m Not Around’ is a song I wrote during a really shitty time in my life. My relationship with this boy had just ended, and I was losing touch with a lot of people I had grown up with for so many years. It was a lonely and isolating time in my life, and I felt like I just didn’t fit in with the people I thought were my friends. If people say one thing to your face and then say different shit about you when you’re not around, were they ever really your friends at all? Writing this song helped me deal with that shit tremendously and that’s why this song and music video are both really f*ckin’ special to me. I hope people listen to this song and feel empowered to be themselves and cut ties with fake ass bitches. Above all though I hope when people listen to this song, they know they’re not alone.”

RAISSA RELEASES NEW SONG “POLICÍA”
In speaking about the track’s meaning Raissa says, “It’s directed at my own self-doubt and ambition. Less literal to free — more poetic/metaphorical. Reflecting on the times where there have been people around me, namely men, who talk out of their ass — the song is also about the fear of being given up on, but mainly the fear of giving up on yourself, but it’s all expressed with attitude and sass in the song. It only becomes fully vulnerable in the outro.”

‘Fortitude’ was ideated in the wake of the death of George Floyd and, as Pablo describes, written “in such vivid depictions of the human heart in conflict with its own existence I felt as I’m sure many of you did; heartbroken and dismayed at the utter barbarity that took Mr. Floyd’s life. I am a deep believer in the promises laid out in the Declaration of Independence but unfortunately for most of the population those promises were never realized. It is this discrepancy that I feel my most sacred duty as an artist is to comment on.”

Misstress – Release New Single “Lady Katharina”
Andy composer of the song: “LADY KATHARINA It’s a typical love song. As is the case with Misstress, song obviously has an aura of horror. The song tells about the feeling for the Tsarina Catherine returning from beyond the grave. As one historian writes: “For some, a ruthless schemer, for others, the mother of the nation. An eloquent lady and unused lover. Reformer and despot. In the biography of Catherine the Great, considered one of the most outstanding rulers in history, many secrets and surprising, because not obvious facts are written. Both from the world of politics and the royal bedroom. The tsarina’s life was full of spice …”. I personally wrote this song for my beloved Katherina.”
