Poolside brings in summertime with new ‘High Season’ LP out today
HIGH SEASON features the latest singles “Losing Control” by German house music producer Satin Jackets, which Stereofox called “mesmerizing,” and yesterday’s early teaser “High Season (with Buscabulla).” Buscabulla share their excitement about the new release saying, “Poolside is a project we’ve dug for a long time. The textures, vibes and production have always been immaculate in their music. Ironically we were particularly inspired by some of their remixes, including their classic for Sade’s ‘When am I Gonna Make a Living.’ It’s a pretty cool twist of fate to now be able to put our spin a track with the Poolside name.”
ERICA BANKS TAPS DREAMDOLL FOR SEXY “TOOT THAT” REMIX

Banks’ rhymes ring off like usual as she offers blunt commands: “Throw it in rotation, make that nigga get up on it, b*tch/Do it like you nasty, do it like you own it, b*tch.” The remix comes complete with throbbing bass, Insta-caption-worthy bars, and an instructive hook that begs to be repeated.

Founded in 1987 under the name Schismopathic Torment, in 1988 the band changed its name to SCHISMOPATHIC under the lineup of bassist Jacek B., guitarist Robert F., and vocalist/drummer Robert G. A year later, they released their debut demo, Kharkharamapathic Regurgitator, resulting in a plethora of shows throughout Poland with bands from the top tier of their country’s underground. In 1991, SCHISMOPATHIC recorded their debut album, D.E.M.O.C.R.A.C.Y., which, due to the band’s inactivity, was released with the first demo and live recordings in 2013 on CD, and then a few years later on LP via Selfmadegod Records.
She states, “High Priest Daughter was written over the darkest period of my life. I didn’t even know I was doing it but writing these songs definitely helped me exorcise some of the demons that were taking over my life at the time. I started writing the album a year before my mom passed away and finished it a year after her death. Even though the album doesn’t sound as depressing as it seems, it explores death and coming to terms with it, depression, trauma, and a healthy dose of nihilism.”

Release Alert: Venezuelan thrash titans ‘Overhate’ release new video
“‘The Penance and the Lesson’ is a song that tries to depict what luck is for everyone at certain decisive moments, the song’s aggressiveness wants to give the listener a peak at the frustration when luck, serving as our fate, doesn’t fall to our favor… Yet, if lessons are learnt out of these unfavorable situations, certain pictures can become very clear, as to how hard decisions well taken can often bring the best of outcomes. Be aware, if there’s no solution, no answer to the question or nothing you can envision, the dices fall for all, as the penance and the lesson are to resume our moments now.” – Giancarlo, Overhate
