Morray Doesn’t Have Time for Relationship Drama in “Nothing Now” Video

With sharp songwriting and a passionate singing voice, Morray is one of the biggest breakout stars of 2021. Coming through with another video from his debut project Street Sermons, Morray shares “Nothing Now.” Emoting over twanging guitar and thumping low-end, Morray bares his soul to an unfaithful partner, making it clear that he’s better for leaving her and she’s much worse: “You not mine, so don’t waste your time/Act like you don’t know me/That nice guy that you used to like/I no longer know ’em/Held him down and ripped out his heart/I feel bad for homey.” In the video, directed by Christian Breslauer, Morray packs his things and leaves his woman, before finding the last payphone in North Carolina to call her and speak his mind. “Nothing Now” follows the video for “Can’t Use Me,” which dropped in April.

Rolling Stone Picks Megan Palmer’s “Stop For A Minute” For This Week’s Best Country Songs

Rolling Stone picked Megan Palmer’s “Stop For A Minute” as one of this week’s Best Country Songs. The song is a track from the upcoming mini-album“Take Good Care”: a soul-stirring, genre-busting document of hope by an artist, a survivor, and a healer, that brings shimmering hope with heart-felt connections.

Recorded with some of East Nashville’s finest musicians, Megan Palmer’s eighth release is the latest in her extensive body of work. After starting out with Ohio’s Spikedrivers, she became a driving force behind Music City’s roots-friendly scene as an artist and back-up instrumentalist/vocalist for Tim Easton, Amy Speace, Anne McCue, Darrin Bradbury and many others.

Also on May 25 we’ll be announcing Rinehart’s Have Fun Idiot EP which also features a duet with Bonnie “Prince” Billy (on a Grateful Dead cover) and a cover of a rare Arthur Russell track (“More Real” from The Necessaries which Arthur played in circa 1982).

In 2007, the band went dormant, and remained that way for nearly fourteen years, reforming two years ago and beginning work on what would be their third record, The Ironic Divide.

Young Devyn shares new video “Act Bad”

Brooklyn’s fast-rising teen rap sensation Young Devyn follows her latest single “Act Bad” with an unruly new video. The high-energy clip features Young Devyn and her crew living their best life as she effortlessly weaves her powerful lyrics over the track’s hard-hitting bass. The 19-year-old “acts bad” while flaunting electric blue hair, Prada boots, and blinged-out nails. Young Devyn’s musical influences are made clear in “Act Bad” as she utilizes Pop Smoke’s famous drill basslines, Ms. Lauryn Hill-level rhymes, and Nicki Minaj-like Caribbean cadences. The rising star is definitely one to watch as she remains the youngest artist to ever perform at the BET cypher, amasses a growing fanbase and accumulates over half a million video views on her previous single “Straight to It.”

Woody and Jeremy – Gravy in my Coffee (out on 6/4)

Can I freshen up your drink? Gravy in my Coffee is the stylistically far-reaching sophomore release from duo Woody and Jeremy. It may surprise you with its depth of emotion and complexity. Less fusion-cooking and more à la carte dining, Gravy in my Coffee is a crowded plate where punk, funk, indie and psych sit side-by-side, smothered in delicious homemade gravy. What is the unifying secret which brings the meal together? “Self-loathing?” Jeremy wonders. “Drum sounds?” says Woody. We think maybe, friendship?

John Carroll Kirby shares new single “Sensing Not Seeing” / New album “Septet” out 25th June via Stones Throw Records

Pianist and composer John Carroll Kirby is releasing his first ensemble album Septet June 25th via Stones Throw, and here is a new selection from it. For “Sensing Not Seeing” Kirby explains, “I imagined running through a forest in the dark. The drums have a frantic energy and the melody is ominous. In the middle section where there would traditionally be an improvised solo, the rhythm section backs a silent instrumentalist, as if wandering through the dark with nothing to guide them.”

Evan Wright (Solitaire Recordings, ffo Kurt Vile, Cory Hanson) | Shares single and announces album

This new body of work comes entirely mixed, produced and recorded by Evan, partially in his NY apartment before he had to decamp to his parents’ place in NJ due to Covid (which is where he ultimately completed it). It’s a lovely fusion of country-folk-tinged psychedelia, it definitely holds some comparison with the likes of Andy Shauf and Cut Worms, but also with the slightly more psych-indie shades of Beach Fossils, Jacco Gardner and Cory Hanson. It’s a pretty fun sound, and I think this first single is a really great intro to what Evan is trying to do with this record. His voice has this great way of gleaning over pools of washy guitar and electronic drum beats to present a somewhat hypnotic feel. Lyrically it presents this rearview reflection of friendships and why people disappear and how close friends suddenly become strangers all of a sudden – it’s a nostalgic, pensive look at the ineluctable changes in relationships.

MAPLE GLIDER – Shares delicate new single & video ‘Baby Tiger’

On “Baby Tiger,” Zietsch elaborates: “‘Baby Tiger’ was written soon after I’d returned home from Brighton. I was really struggling with my mental health, but I was going out and kind of using dating as a distraction from dealing with it. It never really worked. I’d just end up feeling worse when I was alone. Coriander hates closed doors. She’ll always want to know what you’re doing on the other side. It kind of became comforting to hear her scratch at my door. It was something that felt constant and unwavering and regular at a time when I was a bit vacant. Her energy made me feel lighter. I’m very detached from the ‘man’ I address in the song, but I beg for him to comfort me. Though I am feeling unwell, I am pretty certain that it is temporary. I know that ‘I’ll come back to me soon.’ My housemate says she sees this as a kind of happy song because it features Coriander, and I really love that perspective, because even though I was in a bad place when I wrote it, there is an element of hopefulness.”

ANARIA RELEASE THEIR ACOUSTIC VERSION OF “LEAVING YOU BEHIND” with TLG Entertainment/INgrooves

New England, USA – From Anaria’s ‘Sessions’ series, symphonic metal band Anaria releases their stripped-down acoustic version of “Leaving You Behind”. Anaria’s power ordinarily finds itself exploding into their full orchestral delivery but there are times when the band likes to take their full sound and peel back all the layers. This allows the band to offer their listeners a taste of Anaria music from the heart of uncomplicated truth. A pure and simple truth. “Leaving You Behind” is such a clear vision presented to really hear everything Anaria brings.
