OneFromTheNorth launches a new music video – “Altruistic Love”
Finnish metal-synthwave band OneFromTheNorth releases a new music video, “Altruistic Love” from the upcoming album. The new album “Through the Grey Stone to Ravage” will be out April 30, 2021. The featuring artist is Finnish metal artist Tuomas Kuusinen (A Soul Called Perdition, ex-Pain Confessor).
The video is filmed and edited by OneFromTheNorth artist McKeenan, and it was filmed in Hämeenlinna, Finland. McKeenan says that “It was a natural choice to make a video about the song as it represents the darker side of the album. Kantola mural and the area fit perfectly to the video and the song message.”
“Altruistic Love” is about the hypocrisy of our society and people. McKeenan says that “We love when it’s too late and crucify people when they’ve done something that is their last option. Some people “love” on social media and care about the world by adding caring Facebook profile pics, eventually just to polish their own public shield.”
BABY QUEEN MAKES ISLAND RECORDS DEBUT WITH NEW SINGLE “DOVER BEACH”
Her latest “Dover Beach” – a widescreen smash with flecks of The 1975 and optimistic dream-pop like M83 – chronicles the time in October 2020 when she headed to a place she had long dreamt of visiting. Bella says, “In school I was obsessed with this poem called ‘Dover Beach’ by Matthew Arnold and I always wanted to visit the Dover cliffs, so I went there alone on a writing trip in October last year. I actually wrote the melody and lyrics of this song while I was sitting on the beach. It’s about being infatuated with somebody and seeing them everywhere you look. I was kind of pissed that I went to look at the beach, all I could think about was this person, hence the lyric “you stole the view of Dover Beach.” It’s another internal struggle with my own insecurities and a sort of acceptance of the fact that I can’t escape my daydreams of this person, even if I go to a different place.”
WINNERS CIRCLE’S SLEEPY HALLOW SHARES NEW TRACK AND VIDEO “2055”
Produced by Great John, “2055” offers another glimpse into Sleepy’s world from the streets of Brooklyn. Last month Sleepy dropped “2 Sauce,” which Rap Radar described as “super savage.” Lyrical Lemonade stated, “One of the most appealing qualities within a Sleepy Hallow song…is the fact that his deep voice just works so well when mixed with a higher-pitched vocal chop like the one heard in this record, so I knew it was going to be a hit from the moment I pressed play.”

With the recent passing of hip-hop legend DMX, the TikTok community honored his life by cranking up one of his most iconic songs. The hard-hitting “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” has been the sound of choice for creators, with most of the 70.7K+ video creations using the sound arriving in the past week. The sound inspired gymnastics-themed DMX tributes and soundtracked the beaming toddler confidence after a haircut. The sound even brought out a familiar Fast & Furious face to show off some cool, Ruff Ryders-inspired Formula D motorsport drifting tricks.
“In 2020, there were so many images of black suffering on social media. After that traumatizing year, I needed images showing me that being black wasn’t only about suffering, I wanted healing images,” Yndi tells PAPER. “It’s exactly what the Afro-Brazilian culture has been doing for centuries, it conveys a strength that keeps us alive in a dehumanizing society. ‘Noir Brésil’ is a poem for my ancestors.”
“Vocalist, K, says that they grew up loving “Heavy in Your Arms” and had never thought of covering it, but when Ben asked them if they wanted to do it, K immediately said yes and got to work. K says this song brings them a lot of nostalgia and is honoured to have been able to record vocals on it and hopes the fans receive it with open arms so the band can one day perform it on stage.”

Tel-Aviv artist Trace Kotik makes passionate debut
The album’s ambitious arrangements recall the delicate layers of contemporaries like Fleet Foxes or War on Drugs. It’s the work of an artist who’s been honing their craft for years, and is finally ready to let the world in.
Letting us into his personal journey and relationship with his father, “Carlo” is a sample driven, South-American groove that features delicate synths and a smooth R&B breakdown. Overall making for a touching dedication to Black fathers against an instrumental backdrop.

Today, Islands are sharing a second single from the album “Set The Fairlight.”

French Alternative/Metal Rockers PERSEIDE released new brand new single “Set Me Free”
Just a few days after unveilling the music video of their brand new single “Set Me Free” (featuring Elio from TARLD – The Amsterdam Red-Light District), French alternative-metal/rockers from Lyon PERSEIDE officially released the single on digital exclusive through the main legal platforms (Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music…).
Directed by Grizz Lee (Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Duckwrth), the official video for ‘All On Me’ is a cryptic, spiritual affair with the protagonist awakening in a semi-derelict building before embarking on an invigorating bout of interpretive dance – a perfect visual accompaniment to the bass-heavy vibes of the track. Choreographed by notorious director Amy Gardner, who has worked with the likes of Prince, Madonna, Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas and countless others, injects her signature idiosyncratic flair into the video, rich in evocative energy. The expertly choreographed official video for ‘All On Me’ is the ideal visual pairing for the nature of the track itself.
